Hi, Cust is using DECform V2.1B on OpenVMA AXP 6.2 with Cobol V They are seeing a big performance hit whenever they try to run their program - cpu usage nearly 100% - no other users can get in - and it all seems to come from the use of their CONCEALED WHEN clause. Is it possible their is a bug within Decforms causing this ?? They are also seeing this on a VAX with Decforms V1.4-13 (VMS V5.5-2) They are using Cobol V2.2-674 I want to encourage them to develop their code on the AXP. Currently they are struggling with the VAX (VMS V5.5-2 , CDD V4.3-2 and RDB V3.1B-0 !!) to develop .EXE's and then vesting them on the Alpha. any suggestions or comments would be most welcome ??\ thanks ewan - UK CSC.

At first this sounded like the DECthreads performance problem we had in V2.1B and have since eliminated in V2.2. However, you mentioned that the same problem occurs in V1.4 of DECforms. That is very strange. I find it hard to believe that a CONCEALED WHEN clause could be the culprit, but I could be made a believer if you can show me a reproducer. How could they tell it was the CONCEALED WHEN clause? Domenic |
