Simple question and hopefully a simple answer. How involved would the task of migrating a customer running V1.3 to V2.2 be? So complicated that it would require lots of changes, recompilations and testing? Or fairly simple? System is to be upgraded from 5.5 to OpenVMW 6.2. Would it be better/safer to go just to 1.4 even though it's no longer supported? Thanks.

Better to go to V2.2. It wouldn't be too tough. I believe the customer might have to rebuild their forms however. That is, re-translate and re-EXTRACT them (if they use the .OBJ format). Rebuilding forms is recommended for pre-V2.0, but they may work as is. Performance on the form would be better if they rebuilt though. Domenic |
