3982.0. "Overlap and refresh function on forms V2.1B" by EWBV05::OHSHIMA (Yuichi Ohshima, System Support Tokyo) Wed Feb 12 1997 03:02
Our customer tried to transfer their forms application from
VAX platform (DECforms/Japanese V1.4 with ACMS V4.0-2 on OpenVMS VAX
V5.5-2H4) to Alpha platform (DECforms/Japanese V2.1B with ACMS V4.1
on OpenVMS Alpha V6.1-1H2). Their forms application was not changed
at all.
When we tried to execute forms application from ACMS environment,
some of overlap and refreshing function was not worked correctly
as appeared on VAX platform. When we try to display one panel,
one part of preceding forms display was broken, overlap function
seem to be not worked correctly. In other case, when we display some
panels, the character that was displayed before was displayed
at strange position. This symptom was not appeared at all on VAX
platform with DECforms/Japanes V1.4.
After that, we modified their forms .ifdl file as following.
One viewport dose not use shared panel(that is called from
another viewport), only use specific panel. That is, one viewport
only corresponding to one panel. Then we tried to do,
the above symptom was disappeared.
Is there any problem in DECforms/Japanese V2.1B ?
In such case, is there anything they should do or any restriction ?
Thank you,
regards,
Yuichi Ohshima,
System Support Tokyo.

| Yuichi,
I searched our release notes for V2.1B but did not see anything related
to the scenario you are describing. In these cases, a test case that
shows the problem is critical. If you could provide us with something to
debug with, we'd be very appreciative.
