1358.0. "wrong file reference or files named badly" by EMNTAL::STADELMANN (Sepp @ZUO 760-2609) Fri Jan 31 1997 12:34

The OBB 2.7-11 for Alpha NT the RT Version does not well install. 2
Files referenced in the .INF file are not found with the referenced
name. The files do simple not exist under the wanted name. And so on
has to take a copy of the delivered files and give it a name the
installation procedure wants to have, using explorer and then do a
    retry.

    The names in question are

    ObbNamSr.exe <> ObbNamSrv.Exe
    bookshel.hlp <> bookshelf.hlp

1358.1Make sure you used an unzip that supports long namesVAXCPU::michaudJeff Michaud - ObjectBrokerFri Jan 31 1997 14:2014
My guess is that you used an unzip that doesn't support long
filenames, and instead extracted the two files with the long
	names using 8.3 names??

Title: OBB v2.7 SSB kits available

    KIT EXPANSION

For NT, the kit is stored as a zip file. Copy the zip file to a
directory on your NT system, unzip it using an unzip utility which
supports long filenames, such as WinZip32, and then follow the
    installation instructions.
1358.2no problem with DEV only with RT VersionEMNTAL::STADELMANNSepp @ZUO 760-2609Mon Feb 03 1997 04:2113
Thanks for the hint regarding long file names; but how do you explain
that using the same Zip utility on the OBB 2.7-11 NT DEVELOPERS KIT all
files unpack correct and all the NT 4.0 Installation on Alpha goes
    well.

We'r having trouble only with the NT Alpha RT Version of the OBB 2.7-11
    CLD kit.

Your rigth if the names in the two kit's differe in length. But is that
your intention to have different names for equal content ?
    Sepp,

1358.3I unzipped both the RT and DEV original zips and names appear okVAXCPU::michaudJeff Michaud - ObjectBrokerTue Feb 04 1997 17:5515

I just went to the original .zip files and unzipped them both
	and did a "dir /s obbnamsrv.exe" and "dir /s bookshelf.hlp" and
	both returned four matches each.

Can you check the size of the .zip file that you are having the
problem with (should be obrn2711.zip) and let me know to verify
that we're at least both looking at the same .zip file.

It still sounds like either the unzipped kit you have was unzipped
with an unzipper that doesn't understand long names, or the kit
was copied to a fileshare that doesn't support long names (such
	as PATHWORKS V4 Servers)?
1358.4EMNTAL::STADELMANNSepp @ZUO 760-2609Wed Feb 05 1997 02:5710
Unfortunatly we have deleted obrn2711.zip and installed obdn2711.zip.
    obdn2711.zip installed correctly.

When you say that all is well, and that you doubblechecked that the
mentioned file names are correct in either kit then we can close this
topic. Unless you want me to copy over from U.S. obrn2711.zip one more
time to our alpha and redo the installation of it and then investigate
    the problem.

    Sepp,
