488.1 | UD Minor League Baseball cards | CARTUN::PAVLOCK | | Mon Nov 30 1992 22:40 | 25 |
| Just bought a box of the UD Minor League Baseball cards tonight.
Really nice looking set!! And since it's the first UD Minor league
set.....
I think it's a 400 (approx) card set with two insert sets. One insert set
are 26 "Player of the Year" cards. Card says ____ Minor league player
of the year. The _____ is an individual team's name, with one per team.
The secondinsert set are holos. I think these are really nice! It's a
normal holo background with a regular picture of the player in the
foreground.
Does anyone know how many holos there are in this insert set?
I got 5 holos (including a Brien Taylor) and 6 player of the year cards
in one box. I friend got 1 holo and 4 player of the year cards in her
box.
If anyone bought a box and wants to sell any of their insert cards,
please send me mail. Since I got this many, I might as well try to
complete the sets.
Regards,
Denny

488.5 | Check out Spags! | POWDML::GASPARONI | | Wed Dec 02 1992 08:26 | 4 |
| I saw these up to spags last nite, can't remember what the exact price
was, but I think they were 49c per pack, I'm sure the box is cheaper.
They had alot of cards, Skybox, 89c per, and Hoops, at 19.95 per 36
count box. They had a ton of football cards also.

Being a sucker for anything baseball, I bought a box of these cards
last week. Alas, there was an excessive number of duplicates,
including the same card twice in a pack quite often. After I sorted
the cards by number, a very definite pattern emerged, where gaps were
missing but where I'd get exactly 3 or 4 cards in another stretch.
In total, I was almost 100 cards short of a 330-card set from a
432-card box. Not good.
Anyway, the dealer I bought the cards from told me that I could send
just the duplicates back to Upper Deck and they'd send replacement
packs. Has anyone done this for this problem? Will this work, or was
this just his attempt to absolve himself of any responsibility? Thanks
for any help...
I do like the cards. I pulled a very nice hologram card of Dmitri
Young, a Cardinals' prospect whose future I like a lot, and
organizational POY cards of Chipper Jones and Carlos Delgado, two
other can't-missers (but probably will ;-).

488.7 | Worked with Leaf | KAOS::STOLL | | Thu Dec 17 1992 12:16 | 7 |
| I tried this return deal with my Leaf Gold because of a coallation
problem a local shop told me about. They returned an equal amount of
Gold cards from a different run. I am going to try sending my dups
back and I'll post the results. By the way those Holo's are the
COOLEST out yet!! I also like the player subset even though it looks
like a copy of the Leaf Gold Rookie cards.
