445.1 | Dupes from sets. | SDOCS1::MONDARES | | Fri Jun 26 1992 21:30 | 11 |

If you check with your local comic store, they might have some extras
that were left over from when they but their sets. Alot of the
comic stores I frequent have extras, so I would imagine that you should
be able to finish that set.
Happy card hunting....8*)

445.2 | OLIVIA II Available | MR4DEC::BBARRY | | Thu Feb 25 1993 17:57 | 17 |
| Olivia II sets are now available. This is all 72 card Prism Card Set
with 6 "Platinum Cards." The platinum cards are prisms/laser cards
with better quality etchings. Packs are 7 cards, 36 packs to wax
box with 2 "Platinum Cards per wax box.
I bought a wax box and was able to get 2 complete sets and
61 out of 72 cards for the third set. NO, none of the sets are for
sale ( the singles maybe). This goes with the 4 sets of Olivia I,
2 sets of Olivia I Prism cards, an Olivia promo card and an unopened
wax pack.
Unfortunately, the cards are an inferior quality. The die transfer
process used to make the prism cards renders muted colors, instead of
the clear colors Olivia is known for. Also, the card stock is
brittle and I damage the edges on a few just taking out of the packs
and mounting them in sleeves.

Could you share with us how much you paid for the Olivia II
box and where (just in case it was a good price, it would be
good to know where). Thanks,

445.4 | Olivia II $60.00/box | MR4DEC::BBARRY | | Fri Feb 26 1993 11:05 | 37 |
| RE: 445.3 by STUDIO::GUTIERREZ "Citizen of the Cosmos" >>>
I bought them at The Comic Store in Nashua. It is located in Simoneau
Plaza, which is the rundown shopping center between Pheasant Lane
Mall and downtown. The Comic store as the name implies specializes
in comics, fantasy games and non-sport cards. They have a limited
selection of sport cards. They have the best variety for non-sports
cards that I have seen. Their prices are average. They do have a good
price for 9 pocket acrylic sleeves.
For the Olivia II cards, I paid $60 for the box which is about $1.66 a
pack. He charges $2.00 for individual packs. He also has individual
Platinum Cards for $15.00 each.
I definitely paid too much. But I had 3 things working against me:
1) I am a definite Olivia collector, plus a Betty Page collector
which Oliva uses for her works. (I keep ALL Betty Page Cards)
2) Second Series cards always start out at a high price then drop.
3) The owner knew both 1 and 2.
I suspect the price will drop to $1.50/pack and $50.00/box as more
dealers start to carry them. I will definitely holdoff on getting
more boxes until the price comes down. If anyone knows a shop that
carries a lot of non-sport cards at a good price, please let me
know.
Brian
P.S. I will bring a few of the cards into the office if anyone would
like to check out the quality. I can be found at MR4-3/J8.

Thanks for the info, Barry, I saw the Olivia II boxes at the
last card show I went to last weekend, the cheapest I saw
was $54/box which is still too high as far as I'm concerned,
I expect to get a box for less than $50 from one of my contacts,
but I only ordered one box, so I don't know if I'll be able to
buy more than one box at that price.
I also have the Olivia I plus the Boris I & II, Frazetta and
Chris Achileo cards.
