Hey, I sent you a whole set of those Sunflower cards last year, and I
haven't finished this year's set yet for my self. While we're on this
"never" subject, I never did see any MooTown Snackers anything while I
was there, and believe me I looked everywhere. Half the time I had
clerks give me real odd looks when I asked them where they kept the
stuff. A couple of them even laughed out loud. If you ask me, I think
it was a plot to make me look foolish in public, and I really don't
need the help 8^).
You probably chuckled yourself to sleep that night, didn't you. Sure, I
can see it know, tell the rube some story, and give the product some
off-the-wall stupid name, say, MooTown Snackers, and then send him off
to find it. Sorta like a Snipe hunt, huh?
You owe me some proofs-of-purchase, and then we'll talk sunflower
seeds.
8^)

OOOOOH! What an idea for a great practical joke. I'm gonna haft to
spread it around that Trojans has a limited time enclosed card offer or
if I was really a stinker I could make it something like panty shields

and even gave me one as a sample. But when I canvassed grocery stores
and convenience shops, many of the clerks looked at me like I was an
escaped patient. I looked for a week, and then went home.
Too bad, I really liked them!

This has to be the funniest note I have read in along time, especially

they go to sunflower seeds, and end up with mootowners and douches what

| Those Mootowners are a lot easier to deal with than Jimmy Dean.
Mootowners are mozarella string cheese snacks - like Polly-O or
some other brands. Yes, I bought a couple of packs. You get about
6 cheese sticks AND one card for $1.59. I still have a bunch of the
sticks left. They gotta be bad by now but they weren't that bad to
start with. As for the cards, they were the usual cards by those nasty
airbrush boys, Michael Schecter Associates (MSA). Their cards (Jimmy
Dean, Mootown, Post, Wonder Bread, to name a few) are recognizable
except for this year's Pepsi/Red Sox cards. They were able to copy
the style from the Score Pepsi/Red Sox cards from last year. Anyway,
I will have to send for the Mootown set one of these days.
Hey, maybe you can put the Mootown cheese on the Jimmy Deans...

I've got 3 Jimmy Dean Sheets (the dog loved the sausage), but didn't

| I haven't been grocery shopping yet to pick some up. While
scanning the coupon inserts in Sunday's paper, I came across a
coupon ad for Mootown that had the cards pictured in it stating
that they were now in each package. They look pretty much the
same as last year except the red border is now blue.
I had my POP returned last year too. Unfortunately, I don't think
I kept them. I did get a coupon for a free package of them that I
haven't used yet...
FWIW, I've found a couple of interesting thing while scanning the
coupon inserts. Last winter, Snickers was giving away a set of
Olympic hero cards for $6.95 and 3 Proof of purchase, nice cards. The other
set that was just mentioned a few days ago in here was advertised in
there also, along with the form. I also picked up a REALLY nice
mug from someone w/POP for a couple bucks. It's the shape of a football
helmet and you could choose from any NFL team. This is a NICE mug
and it must hold the equivalent of a Dunkin Donuts Big One in
there...

got a Chiefs one. She mentioned Sunday MooTown Snackers were

for 5 Nestle wrappers. The sheet I got has about 15 current and
possible Hall of Famers on it (Schmidt, Jackson, Ryan, Carlton,
Morgan etc.).

| Denny,
If you've ever heard the term "regional sets", this type of stuff is
what's being refered to. Alot of companies insert cards in their
products, some on a regional and some on a national basis. California
Jumbo Sunflower Seeds are regional here (and *very* rare and
collectible 8^)), as are Mother's Cookies. Likewise, you guys can get
Nissan Bread and MooTown out there. Post and Kellog's are national, and
we can *all* get them.

326.47 | Yet another food issue... | RAYBOK::DAMIANO | Bad example to kids everywhere | Tue May 12 1992 17:14 | 17 |
| Mr. Turkey, a sandwich meat co., has included a set with their product.
The good news is you get to see the card before you buy the package;
The bad news is the card is part of the product packaging and has to be
trimmed down to card size. Also, you only get one card per package.
Inside there is a mail-in offer that involves 5 UPC's and a check for
$5.95, in return for wich you get an uncut sheet of the set (26 cards).
The cards themselves are fairly goofy looking, and there are no logo's
showing. Because of this there will probably be a low demand, and the price
of the set will skyrocket in later years as jaded collectors look for
something new and different.
