| You better believe you got a good deal,I saw them going for $3.00
to $4.50 a pack, goes to show you how the dealers control the prices.
I think thats the best way to go,buying them by the case before they
hit the stores.

Well, nearly every dealer at the Sturbridge show had them this
weekend. $75-90/box. For something everyone has.
And OPC has admitted (just fyi), that they are going back to
press to print even more OPC hockey factory sets -- for the
people who order candy from them.
The card stock is not worthy of a premium label, the player
selection is "okay", but considering when the hockey AND the
baseball came out, they missed a lot.
The back of the cards are kind of pedestrian. The front is a nice
design, but kind of boring since you've already seen it on the
hockey cards.
And somehow I believe they printed a lot more of this than they
did the hockey (which is still about 10 times over-priced).
It's all a question of how long people can hold out. People that
HAVE to have these things, because they WILL ONLY GO UP, will be
the ones who keep the prices up there.
If people walk by, scoff at the prices posted, and tell the dealer
he's a scam artist, then the prices will come down.
But I'm sure there's a lot of noters out there who've paid the
outrageous prices for these things, but not mentioned it in here
because they know they'll catch flak. So they keep buying this
crap, paying the big bucks, and "playing themselves".

I agree with you here roy, I can't see what the allure of these
cards is. It all seems to be based purely on, "you know what the
hockey did, better grab the baseball." Bunch of bull*hit. 132
cards, barely a rookie among them and a copy of the hockey as far
as looks go. As I said in some other other note, I think OPC
baseball maybe the first of the hyped "limited" production cards
to take a major dive from its hyped up price level. I think you
can make a case for TSC because of its high quality photographic
look and its unique backs (rookie reprint not the BARS stats).
Maybe one can even make a case for 91 Leaf, 'cause the golds are
neat, but these cards have nothing but hype going for them.

It was this past Sunday. The next is September 1st, featuring
Frank Robinson, Gaylord Perry, Warren Spahn, and Johnny Sain.
It's held at the Sheraton Sturbridge (it's no longer a Sheraton,
but I forget the name of the new hotel chain that took it over).
It's right behind McDonald's, on Rt. 20 West ...

At the recent Joe D show, I saw these boxes going for $60-75.
I also saw factory sets (yes, already) for between $45-55.
