228.1 | Score Series I | GSMART::MATOS | | Wed Jan 02 1991 08:27 | 9 |
| I picked up a box on Sunday at the Card Show in Worcester for
$ 15.00 and was about 61 cards short from a complete set.
Dose anyone know which is the last card in series I?
I also got 2 Jose Canseco Dream Cards and nobody else and it's # 441,
1 of 13, is this the last card in series I.
Thanks

228.2 | SPAG's has SCORE boxes | PACKER::CORNELL | | Wed Jan 02 1991 09:36 | 6 |
| SPAG's in Shrewsbury have SCORE 91 boxes on sale for 12.50 per box.
Picked up 2 boxes and still need about 15 cards to complete series I.
Cards look real nice, 4 colors make up the set so far. Might be more
colors to complete the set.

228.5 | Score has my vote as best looking! | AKOCOA::GASPARONI | | Wed Jan 09 1991 15:17 | 4 |
| Score has my vote as the best looking, the most imaginative cards for
1991. Very colorful, and the Dream Team, and Rookie cards are real
nice looking, and they also have some of the horizontal format which
are nice, and bring back nice memories of the Topps 1960 set.

- I agree Score is a good looking card this year,as well as lasts. I
have not seen the Upper Deck 91's. I have not completed my set as of
yet but will be soon.

228.7 | WHAT'S NEXT | BOSOX::WALWORTH | | Mon Feb 11 1991 12:47 | 8 |
| Looks like Score got into the craze by randomly inserting specialty
cards of Mickey Mantle autographed in their wax packs. Looks like all
the top campanies have to have a gimmick to sell.
Will it ever stop,

228.8 | Great Pro-Mo Packett to the Dealers of Score. | AKOCOA::GASPARONI | | Tue Feb 12 1991 15:52 | 9 |
| Just heard about the new Mantle craze on the Score Series II. There is
going to be some nice Mantle, never published cards in the set. Fred
at the Concord CArd Shop showed me the Score Promotion Liturature on
the cards, and thats Real impressive, alot of never seen before pics
of mantle and Billy M. and a few of mantle swinging the bat, using a
Black Bat. I didn't know the black bats were around then, this pic
had to be back in the 1950's, late that is. Once again, this was the
pro-mo packet that the dealers get. If anyone sees them for sale, let
me know, I would like to buy one.

I also thought Score was the nicest set of the year, so I collected
Series I, my only beef is the total number of cards (~900) seems
a bit much. Is this one of the largest sets going? The small size
of most series II for other sports I'm currently collecting had me
expecting less sheer numbers in score series II. Definitely not
worth trying to do casually by packs, I "had" to buy a wax box
the other day at a show ($14).

228.17 | 4 or 5 x 900 x doubles & triples = $$$$$ | SSVAX::LEONHARDT | | Tue Mar 26 1991 08:38 | 5 |
| The last two are why I am now out of the baseball card business.
Can't, a) afford it dollarwise, b) can't afford it spacewise...
