| Tony,I bought some at the Methuen Mall the other nite for my son.
I'm pretty sure they were $.25 a pack,my sone has just about everything
that is Ninja turtles related. If you should go to the mall, the store
is in the center of the Mall, they have an Easter Bunny display next to
it.I forget the name of the store, but they only sell all types of
candies, nuts, and trail snacks. They also sell Baseball cards,
Nintendo cards,and Ninja cards.

and have a miracle ear for SportsNet know this... The 1990 Hulk card

| I think, at one time or another, I've been a serious "something" col-
lector. That "something" included "Non-Sports" cards. Both Ed (the defunct
Ed Norris) and I were into non-sports pretty heavy. I did manage to hang onto
a couple of my personal favorite sets ... 1964 Topps "Outer Limits" and 1958
Topps "Space Cards" (aka Target Moon). I remember the Outer Limits as a kid.
talk about a bizzarre "wet your bed" si-fi show ! 1964 was a banner year for
non-sports. I think the "Beatles Color" set was the first cards I ever bought.
We played that "I wanna hold your hand" 45 'til it wore out ... then we flung
it into space like a frisbee ... never to be seen again 8^). "Combat" was also
another "biggie". War/playing Army was big in my neighborhood. I also loved
those "Ugly Stickers" (circa 1965). I bet some of you guys out there remember
them ... gross pictures of monsters with a persons name ... like "Roy" 8^). It
was always neat to find one of some girl in your class, or one of your friends
and show it to them. "Hey ... this one looks just like you" !!! I had those
suckers stuck on everything I owned. The "Munsters" were in a card set too in
'64. I still watch/love that show. Monsters were always a favorite non-sports
card subject. Ahhh ... the memories. Anybody else out there remember any of
that "cool" non-sports "stuff" ???

I can't remember the "insignias" but I do remember that on the back
of each card was a "News Bulletin" complete with a simulated
newspaper front. One of the "not-so-fond-memories" was having to
tape part of the "bulletin" back on to one
of the cards due to the card being stuck to the gum 8^(
I am sure that I could eventually replace the card at some show but
that would just wipe out the memories of my "ingenuity" of fixing
one of the last cards needed to complete the set.
This particular set was the only card set that I ever completed as
a kid which is all the more reason why I won't try at shows to make
it "mint" (I hate that word)

book collector. They are pretty neat cards. They have a
few sub-sets including Superheroes, Supervillans, Team Pictures,
Most Valuable Comics, Classic Battles, a Stan Lee card, and a
Checklist card. For the characters, it lists things like height,
weight, battles won/lost, percentage wins, real name, etc. It
also talks about the origin of the character and a "Did you know"
blurb at the bottom. I thought they were pretty neat, even for
someone who isn't into comics.

I saw some packs this morning for .39 a pack. It appeared as if
there are only 5, 6, or 7 cards/pack (or are these REALLY thin

Is .39/pack a good price? How many cards are in a set? What's

Roy,
the X-Men cards are very thin, and you only get
6 cards per pack, there are 100 cards in the set, and
you usually get about 4 Holos in a box, 5 if you are lucky,
there are 5 different Gold Holos. I have seen dealers
selling the individual Gold Holos at the card shows for
about $3 each, but last week I bought a complete set from
a dealer for $10, so it all depends who you're dealing with,
some dealers think they are selling real gold, and try to
charge you accordingly.
$.40 for a pack is a very reasonable price, they
usually sell for $.50/pack, and I have seen dealers selling
the X-Men boxes for anywhere between $14 - $16 per.
I have an extra X-Men set that you can have for $8
if you want it, let me know.

New Troll Cards
For any of you who have young daughters (or sons for that matter) that
are into Trolls, like my 8 year old is, there is a set of regular Troll
cards that I saw at Hudmar's in Marlboro Mass.
7 cards per pack @ $.50 per pack. It is a 50 card set that they sell
for $5.
I bought as few packs for my daughter and she loves them. She has
taken them twice to school for show and tell. I gave her a plastic box
which she carries them around in. She takes them out and reads the
backs. Shows them to her friends, etc., etc., etc.
Best $2 I every spent on her.

Non-Sports cards have become just as popular as sports cards,
and *most*(not all) sports cards dealers carry non-sports cards;
for the most part, the dealers have plenty of them in stock and
it is very doubtful that they would be buying them unless it was
a very popular limited edition set. I wouldn't put the YIJC in
that category, I have seen those boxes sold dirt cheap and they
just sit there, not many people buy them. Some stores also carry
and will sell single cards.
Having said that, don't take my word for it, go to the stores and
see if you can sell them. Good luck...
Hudmar in Marlboro and D & M Sports cards in Northboro, both on Rte. 20
sell non-sports cards, just to mention a couple.
