89.2 | 540 cards in this set now? | PNO::KAPLAN | subtlety..SUBTLETY..<<S U B T L E T Y>> | Tue Oct 10 1989 13:48 | 4 |
| A local ad lists this set as containing 540 cards. I have a set with
440. Does this mean there are 100 more cards (special or otherwise)?
Are there several new subsets?

89.3 | More Questions | SAGE::JACUNSKI | | Tue Oct 10 1989 16:28 | 7 |
| What's the going price for a Pro_Set pack? Is the 441-540 series
mixed in with 1-440, or is it available separately from dealers
like the baseball card update sets. I think these cards are very
nice except for the thin stock they used.
Thanks,
Rick

89.5 | The official card? | CRUISE::JBONIN | John Bonin, U.S. Data Warehouse DBA | Wed Oct 11 1989 11:49 | 7 |
| These cards claim to be the "Official NFL card", put out by the
NFL. Is that true? Does it make the other cards, like Topps,
"Unofficial" and less value.
They did a *really* nice job on these cards!

| It turns out that the Rozell cards are an error. They were not
scheduled to be released(yeah, right) but some made it out. The
shop in Yakima my brother in law frequents sells it for $7. The
reason they were not supposed to go out is because the new commissioner
has not been sellected yet. So.....they are out there in very small
quantities.
I'm interested in the announcer cards, Darts anyone?

| ... have you heard about the Rozelle "FF" variation .... the card
pictures the beloved commissioner making a gesture with one on his
fingers .... the card is captioned "Farwell to Football" 8^) !!!

| You know, I thought I had written a new note on Upperdecks since
the card does not specifically have it's own topic and it just
vaporized. Did I get "moder-edited" or what? It didn't get moved
to a different note just blasted out of existance. I think it's
a communist plot to overthrow DEC!

89.15 | Super Bowl Cards | NUTMEG::JACUNSKI | | Tue Oct 02 1990 17:12 | 13 |
| I only opened two packs of the 89 Pro Set football cards before
deciding to buy the whole set when it became available. The Super Bowl
cards in each of those two packs were XVII (Redskins vs. Dolphins). I
also have about a dozen unopened packs, and the same Super Bowl XVII
card is showing through the top of EVERY ONE of them. What gives? Did
each pack in a given box have the same S.B. card, or was this just a
fluke?
I realize this is ancient history, but I'd still like to know the
answer if any of you experts can help.
Thanks,
Rick

For anyone who's interested.
49er Headquarters (Arizona, 800-421-49er) has the #47A (Fridge)
card for $24.95 -- which includes shipping and handling.
They accept mastercard/visa, etc.
