16.0. "Fleer Tin Sets" by JUNIOR::GSMITH () Wed Jul 15 1987 14:30

    Fleer has put out a complete set of 1987 cards, glossy edition,
    in a tin canaster container. I understand this set, if you can find
    one, is priced anywhere from $65 - $130.00! I have seen individual
    sets, ie: teams sets, taken from this canaster, selling for much
    more than the regular edition 1987 cards.

    Does anyone have this set or have any additional information. Is
    it worth the $$, etc.?

    The set is a limited edition which probably explains the high price
    I don't know the number of sets that were printed. It is also a
    high gloss set like the Topps Tiffany set which usually sells around
    $125.

    The glossy '87 tiffany sets were a limited release.
    Whatever "limited release" means!    :*)

    A solid rule is about 1.5 of the regular set.
    ~$150.00

    I am forced to agree, some dealer is trying to squeeze

    I recall that back when these sets were at the peak of their
    popularity, the empty tins were going for $10, so maybe this is a hot
    deal!
