*** THIS MESSAGE IS FROM BOB RENNICK ***
I am pleased to announce the appointment, effective immediately, of
Giulio Gianturco
Vice President, Americas Sales and Marketing
Network Product Business Unit (NPB).
Giulio will be responsible for defining, developing, and implementing the
go-to-market strategy for the Network Product Business in the Americas. He
will also support the development of Field Marketing programs designed to
build awareness and generate demand across all channels. Giulio and his
team will focus special attention on complementary programs and customer
satisfaction with our internal Digital partner groups, especially NSIS and
SBU; developing and managing relationships and programs with industrial and
commercial distribution partners and resellers; improving bandwidth and
efficiency of Channel infrastructure; and continuing the implemention of an
effective and streamlined approach to all sales and sales operations
functions.
During the past several months, Giulio has served as the acting Vice
President of Sales and Marketing for the Americas, in addition to his role
as Director of North American Sales and Sales Support.
Giulio has a record of consistent business plan achievement with
international experience in the network computing and business
telecommunication markets. Prior to joining Digital in June, 1995, Giulio
had 12 years industry experience with the AT&T Global Business

*** THIS MESSAGE IS FROM BOB RENNICK ***
I have accepted, with regret, the resignation of Avi Fogel, vice president
of Global Marketing for the Network Product Business. Avi has decided to
leave Digital to pursue a start-up opportunity in the networking industry.
He joined Digital in October of 1995 and has been a valued contributor to
the NPB during his short tenure. We wish him the best.
I am pleased to announce that, effective December 23rd, John Ardini has
accepted the assignment as acting vice president of Global Marketing for
the NPB, reporting to me. John will work with the senior marketing staff
and me to meet the exciting challenges in the near term. Our immediate
tasks are to launch several new major products and to continue the
transformation of the NPB to our dual mission of being a vigorous
competitor in the fastest growing segments of the network infrastructure
industry and being a key team member in Digital's 1-3-9 strategy. We
will begin an internal and external search for the new Marketing VP at the
start of the calendar year.
John joined NPB last May and has been in Digital since 1977. He brings a
broad base of experience to the job including; management assignments in
Digital Manufacturing and Engineering, as well as marketing management
roles involving strategic alliances, marketing communication, systems
integration and manufacturing industries. John has a B.S. in Industrial
Engineering from Northeastern University and a M.S. in Management Science
from Lowell Technological Institute.
Please join me in giving John your full support in his new assignment.
