| ...probably not - I think it uses the new "read-the-LEDs" MIB
objects instead of trying to guess what the LEDs should look like.

Michael,
That is correct. clearVISN MultiChassis Manager releases require
that the latest GIGAswitch/FDDI FW be loaded. The latest release
of MCM uses the "read-the-LEDs" MIB.

957.3 | Fast Ethernet Card? | NOTED::16.67.96.117::dfaust | Dennis Faust | Thu Apr 03 1997 13:50 | 9 |
| I read in the press release that by September there will be a Fast Ethernet
card fopr the GIGAswitch/FDDI. I aslo know thta it will be a 4 port card. Is
there someplace I can go to get a little more insight into the new card, such
as if it is TX or FX, do they only work in a 4 port slot (I would asume so,
based on how the switch is designed) and projected pricing and design gotchas.
Any assistance would be appreciated

| It's similar in concept to a FGL-4. You can put a FGL-4 in a two
port slot, but only two ports will work. Both of those MMIs are
expected, to the best of my knowledge.
In general, information on unannounced products (or "preannounced"
products) can be obtained from the product manager, especially things
like pricing...
If we knew of any gotcha's, they wouldn't be gotcha's....
