941.0. "different SPT-prios with 3.1 ?" by UTOPIE::BRAUN_R () Thu Feb 27 1997 11:20
Hi all,
with the new 3.1-version we are planning a special setup using
Logical Bridge Domains within the same GIGAswitch to be connected
to 2 different and totally independent FDDI-rings.
As an additional feature we would like to seperate also the default
root bridge, not having both root bridges on one GIGAswitch. This would
require different bridge priorities for the Logical Bridge Domains
within the same GIGAswitch.
Is this possible with 3.1 ?
GIGA1 GIGA2
-------------- --------------
FDDI-1 | prio 16 | FDDI-1 | prio 128 | FDDI-1
--------| |-------------| |--------------
| - - - - - | | - - - - - |
--------| |-------------| |--------------
FDDI-2 | prio 64 | FDDI-2 | prio 16 | FDDI-2
-------------- --------------
GIGA1 is root bridge for Logical Bridge Group 1 (FDDI-1)
GIGI2 is root bridge for Logical Bridge Group 2 (FDDI-2)
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ralph

| Bridge priority can be set independently for each spanning tree domain.
You use the community string encoding to select the domain.
