Hi, is their any idea to implement a kind of "mirror port" on GIGAswitch/FDDI. I have some request from our GS customers. They like to have this funtionality, because they have their systems connected point to point to the GS. Now they want to capture the traffic from/to a specific port without making hardware changes (like installing a concentrator between) to the running configuration. Regards Juergen Mayer

There has been some discussion. It appears to be feasible with some lost of performance. (I.E. It can't really be a mirror port, but it's possible to direct traffic going to a specific port to an intermediate port before the final destination). Making filters work properly is a difficulty. As with all such wish list items, if you have a business requirement, contact product management. Notes conference discussions, although valuable and entertaining, don't necessarily initiate any activity. MDL |
