Does any know where I can have our NES fixed. I live in Groton, Ma so anywhere in the area would be great. I don't know what is wrong with it, It's my seven year olds and with all his friends coming over any playing with it something happened. I also found 2 pennies in the system, I was able to get one of them out but can't get the other. Could this be the problem??

My brother owns/operates an electronics repair store in Ithaca, NY. He claims that it isn't worth fixing NES controllers because they'd have to charge $50 or so to do anything to make it worth their while, and you can buy a new one for not much more than that, and a used one for probably less. I had a similar problem with my son's nintendo..... I turned it up side down took out the screws and cleaned it with alcohol using a cotton swap. This was two years ago. the game still works great. The most difficult part was the proper alignment of the sping mechaism where the games are inserted. The trick is not to tighten the scews all the way. Good luck Happy Holiday | |||||

Call Nintendo and ask for the nearest repaior shop to you. The shop will have a complete testing system that they plug your nintendo into. I know of one in Burlington, MA called Needle in A Haystack. But keep in mind what other people have said. You can pick up a used nintendo for $50.00 and under. So if they do find a problem ask for the cost to repair to see if it's worth it. The testing is FREE. |
