679.0. "New Games?" by MR4DEC::DIPROFIO () Thu Oct 10 1991 14:52

    I would like to purchase a new fun game. I only have Super Mario and
    Tetris. I like to play Tetris a lot. I wish they had more games that
    were equal to it. I rented Vegas Dream which was fun but not worth
    $49. I rent one called Loopz and couldn't really figure it out that
    well from the directions that come when you rent. I tried Dream Master
    which was cute (what I saw of it) because as before the directions are
    very limited.

    Are there any new games out there that people have discovered recently?
    I figure with Christmas coming up fairly soon that they should be
    coming out with some different games.

    I would appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks
    Leone

    I recently saw RBI Baseball 3 (yes, three).

    I also saw a new game; Family Feud.

    Another new one I saw was; Classic Concentration.

    And of course, a recent one, still HOT, is Monopoly.

    There seem to be a number of games coming out STILL for the NES,
    even with Super-NES out there.
679.2Look for Notes with lots of replies.SUBWAY::LABOMBARDNous Sommes Du SoleilThu Oct 10 1991 15:3214
    Hi;

    It appears that the "better" games seem to be those that have MANY
    replies listed in this notes file. Thats a rule of thumb anyway.

    Just a hint - Check out the Classified (Note 3.*) Sometimes you can
    find games there at bargin prices, so you can build up your collection
    far cheeper in the long run.

    Also, I've noticed that many games have been drastically reduced (to
    about $15 or so) in the stores.

    Good luck, and have fun
    Don

    I would recommend PIPE DREAMS (it goes for $19.99 now), Crystalis and
    SMB II.

       If you like Tetris, you would probably enjoy Dr. Mario. My wife
     and I are addicted to this game. Has two player settings to add to
     the enjoyment. Instead of shapes, you are dealing with colors.

679.5KLAX AND QIXSALEM::KUPTONPasta MastaFri Oct 18 1991 16:5212
    The makers of TETRIS From Russia with Love (TENGEN) have come out with
    KLAX. This is great game of frustration. I bought it for $19.99 and it
    has a $6.00 rebate from TENGEN.

    The game has colored tile that must be placed vertically,
    Horizontally,or Diagonally...Speed of tiles dropping increases at each
    level...Great fun.

    Another is QIX. A game of reducing the size of a square...

    	Klax is EXTREMELY hard ... makes Tetris seem like a field day.
    	Doesn't take long for the game to get too fast to keep up with.
