634.0. "Operation C (Game Boy)" by WLDWST::SHANSEN (I WANT IT!) Sat May 04 1991 07:27

I just got this game this week. The graphics are great!
Too bad it's jsut a one player game. I think it would be a lot
of fun if to people could play also. I haven't made it to far
yet, but it's a blast. This is one of my favorite games for the
Game Boy. Does anyone know if there's a code to get extra lives
    like in the NINTENDO version?

I'm not sure about an extra man code but there is a stage select
code that I sometimes use . But you can only select stages 2-4
The code is up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B A, B A,
start . This comes in handy since if you can beat stage 4 on
your first 2 lives you have the full 2 continues to use on stage
       5.

Thanks for the info. I'll try it as soon as I get it back from
my friend. He's determined to finish all five levels. He's made it
to level 5, which is more than I can say for myself.

634.3LOTS OF LIVES ON OPERATION CWRKSYS::GAUBATZSat Jun 08 1991 12:1550
I am new to notes, but my son has some advice for you:

Here is a code for 10 extra lives that I (Matthew) discovered myself.
While on the title screen, press UP 4 times, press DOWN 4 times, LEFT 4 times,
then RIGHT 4 times, then press START. If you have done this correctly,
you should see 09 for your REST immediately before you enter the first level.
For a sound test, press UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT and START. If this works,
a sound test will come onto the screen. You select the sounds with UP and
DOWN, start the music with A and stop the music with B. I (Matthew) also
discovered this by myself.

I have way to get up to 99 lives, but it takes a long time. I assume that
you already know how to execute the stage select. Select level 4 and go
to the first hole where an EXPERIMENTAL SQUID LICE MANDIABLA comes out and
shoot into that hole. You will notice that before the critter even makes it
all the way out of the hole, your machine gun fire will have destroyed it.
Put a heavy object on the B button so the machine gun will keep firing and
destroying the bugs that come out of the hole. Every time you hit a bug,
your score will increase. Every time your score increases by 30,000 points,
you will get an additional life. If you leave your GAMEBOY in a safe spot
so the heavy object will not get knocked off the B button for several hours,
you should have very many lives! The number of lives you get depends on
the amount of time that you leave the GAMEBOY alone. It takes about half
an hour to increase your lives by 5. This should give you a rough idea of
how long to leave your GAMEBOY alone.

Good luck in winning the game!

Signed,

GAMEBOY GURU (Matthew Gaubatz)
