| re .0:
Have you had a chance to try the game out yet? This game is for
the NES and not for gameboy, right? I called Electronic Boutique
to see if they had it and they told me they just got it in for
Gameboy and it's $19.99.
Thanks,
Paula

Try the Electronic Boutique at the Pheasant Lane Mall. If not there
try either K-Bee toys or the Record Shop on Level 1 next to the
Electronic Boutique. I know one of the three had it the week before
Halloween.

I saw an advertisement for this game in today's paper here
in New Jersey. It looks like they have versions for both
the GAMEBOY and the NES.

reviews so WE can figure out if WE want one.

Yeah, I saw the box at my local games rental and I would describe
it as a Tetris-like game. The vitamin bottle (2 bottles for a 2-player
game) did not remind me of any game that follows in the 'Mario'
series. I'd rent the game before buying it. I tried to rent it, but
the only copy of the game was already out.

The most recent issue of Nintendo Power compared it to Tetris. There
is a bottle with some bugs spaced in it. Pills that are half one color
and half another fall into the neck of the bottle. The player must
position the correct half of the pill onto a like colored bug. When 4
colors line up (3 pills + bug), the bug and pills disappear.
This description of from memory after only skimming the writeup a
couple of weeks ago. Anyone with more info is more than welcome to
provide it.

| I rented Dr. M last week. It's very fun! I found it extremely
addictive and was delighted to find myself playing for many more
hours than I had planned.
Basically, the game is like Tetris except that where in Tetris
you link up shapes, in Dr. M you link up colors. Any
combination of four or more blocks of the same color in a row is
a match, and the blocks that match then disappear.
The two-player option is by far the most exciting feature of this
game (reminds me of Tengen Tetris). The unexpected plus is that
if you achieve a chain reaction (make a four-in-a-row which
causes colors to fall and form another four-in-a-row and so on),
your opponent receives half-pills which may prove helpful or
harmful to his strategy (usually the latter).
Non-stop excitement and addictivity combined with high-strategy
head-to-head competition make this a great newcomer. Thumbs up
from me!

| Not really worth the time; this game didn't hold any interest not
even a five year olds. Glad we only rented before buying. Tetris
is much better;but thats only my opinion. My prescription is save
your money.

The biggest problem with playing this game is trying to compare it
to TETRIS.
When I first played it, all I could think of was TETRIS. But the
object is fundamentaly different than TETRIS.
In TETRIS, you need to get pieces to fit, so that you don't bust the
"roof" of the game.
In Dr, you need to get _colors_ to fit. You have to force yourself to
ignore the shape issue. I also found this game very addicting, mostly
because I died by level 3, and got so pi$$ed that I just had to try it
again.

| I found this game terrific. I can never get my wife to play on the NES,
but now with Dr. Mario, we end up playing the 2 player for hours. The
only other time she would play a video game, was Tetris on her Gameboy.
My 10 year old also enjoys it. The only problem is the side-effects,
addiction.

| My family and I are addicted to this one too; we're renting it till
Saturday and considering to buy a cartridge of this sickness. It
is on an idea of Tetris, but then still quite different. We really
are enjoying it. But, then we were sick on Tetris once too!

| I like Tengen tetris, but this game has a competitive feature that
makes it a better 2-player game. The round ends when someone fills
up their bottle OR finishes the level. If you win 3 rounds, the game
ends and you're the winner. The new element is the TIME factor you have,
as you try to beat your opponent to finish the level. You can alter
the speed and level for each player, which is an effective equalizer
as you handicap unequal players.
The 1-player option is OK, but gets kind of boring.
