| | I assume the 4 player option requires the NES Sattelite.

| | Thats right, 4 player action requires the Satelite. Two player games
    give each player character 1 & 3 or 2 & 4 and a choice of who is going
    to lead the party through the mazes 1 or 2.

| 525.3 | Stuck on Level 13 /major spoiler needed/ please ! | CSS::JAFFE |  | Mon Oct 08 1990 15:04 | 16 |
| | I am stuck on level 13 and need assistance badly. (possible spoiler
    follows)

    I have collected 5 of the 7 ruby treasures, including the ruby amulet.
    I am aware of the fact that there is a ruby treasure to be found in the
    hilt of the great sword, and have knowledge of where this is. I can not
    seem to get into that box through the door (gives me an ouch!) or
    throough the wall. I am aware of the beep indicating something or other
    when touching the top of the sword but it appears to do nothing. I have
    no alternative but to go back to level 1, and try and find something
    similar to the "black crystal" maneuver that will move me along.

    A major spoiler will be most appropriate and helpful.

    Thanks, Joel

| 525.4 | Solved my own problem - am I the only one? | CSS::JAFFE |  | Tue Oct 09 1990 13:27 | 31 |
| | Does not appear that anyone else is playing this game. It has turned
    out to be well worth the money. I have solved the problem listed in the
    prior message and will hide the solution behind a form feed for any who
    follow in my place. In about two weeks, I'll have the game up for
    trade.

    The first part of the problem was to back to level 1 and recollect some
    of the missing clues that I had forgotten (even though I had written
    them all down). There I discovered the fact that there were indeed 7
    ruby treasures and that the ruby sword was hidden in the tip of the
    great sword. I reasoned correctly that that great sword was in maze 11
    and it had something to do with the beep that I was hearing. The second
    thing I found was the Ruby Glasses that I had somehow overlooked during
    my search of level 2. With these in hand, I spent a few hours searching
    other mazes. I forget now which one it was but there was a clue which
    said (major spoiler)

    "the sword will appear after turning seven times". Sure enough, I went
    back to level 11, stood at the tip of the great sword, and turned
    around seven times and "poof" the Ruby Sword appeared and was mine.
    This also opened the door to the hilt where it was foretold that jewels
    were hidden. It actually turned out to be a series of 500 gold per
    square. The next step which is to be taken during my next session is to
    return to the mystic on level 10 with the 7 ruby treasures and find out
    what happens next on the part to VICTORY.

    Sure would like to know if I an indeed the only one playing this game.

| | I am going to buy this game tommorrow. Sounds like a good RPG to me.

| 525.6 | Help - I lost the Magic Staff | CSS::JAFFE |  | Thu Oct 11 1990 10:23 | 14 |
| | I think I am stuck again and although no one has really indicated that
    they are also playing this better than average game, putting my
    problems down make me feel better. So..........

    There is a clue in level 14 which asks me to go back to the "secret
    level and get the magic staff". I looked at my map of the secret level
    and sure enough, I had a sqare marked as such. Evidently, I found the
    item and somewhere along the line, discarded it, not thinking it
    important to hold. I went back to that location, but alas, there is
    nothing there now and no apparent way to get it back.

    The question is, will this affect my end game and if the magic staff is
    necessary, how, short of entering a code that brings me back into the
    game before I found it the first time, can I re-obtain the item?

| 525.7 | Claim victory over the Serpent | CSS::JAFFE |  | Mon Oct 15 1990 12:32 | 18 |
| | I am proud to announce that this weekend, assisted by my 7 yr old son,
    Jarrod, the Dragon was located in level 16 and bit the dust.

    The end game was fairly easy which is on par with the rest of the game.
    The end game graphics were awsome. Overall, well worth the time and
    money, especially for a newcommer to RPG. The puzzle is solvable but
    not that hard that you pull your hair out. It is the computer simulated
    fight which is great for the all thumbs player. There is not much
    monster smashing necessary so long as you fight when yu know you can
    win or when you know you have to stand up and fight. The progression of
    difficulty is matched very close with the experience level that should
    be attained at that point, which leads to the proper amount of sweaty
    palms at the critical battles. Strategy, and intellegence are important
    componants of the overall.

    If you want a copy of the game, mine is listed in the Classifieds.
    Advice and assistance on beating the dragon gladly given via VAXmail.

| 525.8 | How do I escape the south half of Level 10?? | CLO::BARNETT |  | Tue Feb 05 1991 20:03 | 7 |
| | MAJOR, MAJOR SPOILER on escaping the south half of 10.

    The double doors that separate the north from the south have panals
    that say either"forth" or "back" when you tuoch them. If you thouch the
    "back" then"fourth" and "fourth" "back", they will open. The current
    Nintendo Power forgets the last "back".

| 525.9 | Anyone there ?? | RAYBOK::COOPER | One-ton Tomato ! | Mon Jan 04 1993 14:28 | 14 |
| | I hope someone remembers this game as it appears there hasn't been
    much action in a couple of years !! I am in the end game but am
    having trouble following all the directions that I have been given
    along the way as to how to find "Victory". I start following the
    various clues but get to a point where nothing works. I am a little
    concerned about one clue that says return to the "secret" level and
    find the magic staff. I have been back to this level a couple of times
    and searched high and low but can't find this "magic staff". Do they
    mean the "Mage staff" that I already have? I guess I can always try
    the game counselors if nobody can help me.

    Thanks,

        Jim C.
