Hi,
Does this game have a battery backup or a password feature?
What is the going price for it and at what store did you get it from?
Thanks

Oops,
The game has battery backup, and can save two games.
I found it in Computer junction but it was the last one.

498.4 | Fly me to the moon? | DUGGAN::WILLINGER | | Mon Aug 27 1990 10:49 | 13 |
| Great game so far, but we're stumped and could use a hint. Our hero
is unable to obtain the Ball of Thunder, which will enable him to power
up his Sword of Thunder and break through metal walls (and metal,
fire-breathing bulls?).
<Possiple spoiler>
We can see several treasure chests in Mt. Hydra that cannot be reached
without flying across lava canals. Also unreachable is an area near
the top of Mt. Hydra that is just a short jump across a ledge, but
probably also requires flying. Do we need flight magic to find the
ball of thunder? I believe it is Kensu who gives this spell, but he's
just standing outside the castle at Goa waiting for information. What
does he expect?

| In reply to a message I recieved. Your on the right track you do need
the magic of change and once you get it you will know exactly what to
do with it. I would love to give you a spoiler but I think that would not
make it as challenging for you. I will tell you to just forget about
these women and go on to another area. This game will not let you miss
something that is important to the completion of the game. You just
went out of sequence. I did the same thing and it took me awhile to
figure out that I needed to take a different path. Give it another try
and if your still stuck I'll give you an idea of where to go.

about something/someone that's been lost - once you get this clue, you

your going.

to be in the swamp, but I think I have tried everywhere, am I missing
something.
Peter
To be able to understand the OAK people:
You need to go back north to a little hut that use to have some man
who pointed you to the town south/west of the cave. After running
around for a while and visiting him, I finally got to a high enough
level (either 5th or 6th) so that when I went to visit him there were
two people there instead of one. He gives you a task, and when you
finish he gives you something, after this you will want to go visit
the little people, at this time I was able to understand them.
|
498.17 | More OAK people | PEAKS::RIVERA | | Sat Sep 01 1990 21:46 | 20 |
| Concerning my last note and the OAK people.
Spoiler follows
I may have been wrong about needing to go to the cabin in the north,
but if that is the case then it really is a matter of getting up to
at least level 6, because I couldnt understand them for quite a while.
I might be wrong because the little folks tell me about the cabin
after I accomplish the second task that they give me, and so I might
have done something slightly out of order, not that it really matters.
Spoiler follows on the second task that the OAK people ask you to
perform.
Concerning the location in the swamp where I had to use the flute, the
location is obvious, what is not obvious is you need to be right up
against the edge of the darkness before using the flute, otherwise
nothing will happen.

Other info behind form feed in case it might be a spoiler.
I have cured the dolphin, wandered behind the waterfall, and explored

appear to be blocked by a steel wall. I have made ice bridges over

got the item from behind the queen.

Hard to remember the exact sequence, but I think that
after you've defeated the 3 or 4 main bad guys in Goa Castle, there
is another bull-headed iron wall in the castle north of Shyron (if it's
not there, it's in one of the mountain caves) that you have to break
through. Sooner or later, Kensu gives you the Flight Magic.

psycho shield - Remember where you got the thunder sword? (the

Glad to help. As you can imagine, finishing the last

ubiquituous monsters in the last mazes makes the game
a little more fun, a little less tense...

Do you mean the tornado bracelet? The one for the first

the town of Brynmaer. Use the rabbit boots to hop up the
second slide you come to. Go into the far right cave and
explore. It's in there.

Sorry for the confusion - there are so many swords and power-ups
for swords!
Hope you've found it already. If not, or for others in

is perhaps the roughest part of the game - a maze, another

After entering the Castle Goa, I have been through the Maze only to
come to a monster that I cannot defeat with the Thunder Sword/Ball of
Thunder. Everything just bounces off him. He throws(in Succession) a
line of balls. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need something else to
defeat him? This is why I assumed I needed the Storm Bracelet. This
particular monster is in the upper right hand corner Maze.

Ok, it's been a while for me, but I believe what you have to
do is:
There are two places where you go between statues and they
"spit" laser beams at you. Go to the one that ends with
a gargoyle face. When you approach it, a message will appear
on the screen to the effect that "we are under attack,
please help us." Teleport over to that town immediately,
and you'll find a boss monster in the castle in back of the
town again. Then, when you come out, the zombies will be
awake again.
Don't forget to talk to the guy in the basement of the house
on the left.
I think this will do it.

After doing the last bad guy (4th) in in GOA castle, he gives you the
statute of Ivory. If your menu does not show this statute, go back and
defeat him again. After defeating him, you must give this statute to
Kensu. He is located near the last bad guy. He will tell you that he
has been transformed into a little monster (one of those blue
thingies). When you give him the statute, he transforms back inot Kensu
and gives you flight.
Sorry for the bad advice first time.

| Hi Linda
I'll have to check tonight to see where if found the iron necklace and
the Bow of Truth.
I found the Power Bracelet last night.
Spoiler after FF.
The Power Ring is in the Maze where you found the Battle Suit. I was
looking for a hidden cave, but there is no hidden cave. This is the
only one. Go in the normal entrance (not the back way where you came
in after getting FLIGHT magic from Kensu). When you enter, take a
right (if you went straight, this is where you used to see the two
treasure chests that you couldn't get to, across a channel of water).
Keep heading for the center of the maze. You'll come up to a steel
wall/gargoyle thingie that shoots fire. Defeat this and the Power
Bracelet is behind it. Using FLIGHT is the quickest way. I was able
to find it in 30 seconds, once I knew I was in the right maze.

| Hi Linda
I just defeated Dragonia last night and finished the game. What a
SUPER SUPER good game. I think this is the best that I have ever
played.
Are you talking about the 2nd emperor or Dragonia? I believe you are
talking about the 2nd emperor. The one right after you killed the
two statues with the two bows.
spoiler follows FF.
If it is the 2nd Emperor, you can't do it without the Bow of Truth.
You should already have this before you enter the pyramid. I tried
to figure out where I found this Bow, but can't remember. Maybe
someone else in here can help you out. I'll look again.
The night before last, I tried to kill the 2nd emperor, using the power
ring. After about 15 minutes of solid hits on him, he left the room.
I could still hear him shooting but couldn't get out of this room.
I finally reset the game. I came back and used the Bow of Truth on
him. He changed form and I was able to defeat him. You then end up
meeting Mesia and meeting Dragonia. He was easy to defeat.
I defeated the 2nd emperor without any magic rings. I did use the
ivory statue that is located in the pyramid though. After I defeated
him. I used DEO's pendant to build up my magic again.
Soooo, without the Bow of Truth, you will never be able to kill the
2nd emperor. I wrote down where I found everything except for the
Bow of Truth. Sorry.

Pam, I'm talking about the big pyramid as you come out of the cave from the
town of Sahara... a very complicated maze, I only found one place that I
have to defeat Dragonia - this is probably the first emperor. And possibly
after defeating him I'll get or meet Messina again and get the Bow of
Truth, I tried to use both bows on the two gargoyles in the upper pyramid
but I couldn't select both of them, when I selected the second bow the
first one would unselect.
Anyway, your right this is by far the best game I have done. I look
forward to going home and getting supper and dishes out of the way so that
I can sit down and do the game. My boyfriend thinks I'm nuts, he's
probably right.
I'll keep trying, don't know where else the Bow of Truth might be at this
point.

and they said to try walking back to Leaf and then back to Swam
and the Gurads may come back. They were not sure if this would
work. I tried this and it didn't. The only alternative was to
use the special teleport feature and warp past the gate, which
I did. This got me to the other side but even from there I can't
get the gate open and there are no guards. It was that or start
over.

Can someone help me find the blizzard bracelet?
I am at level 10. I have completed the town of Portoa. I have

I suspect that I missed a major monster somewhere in Portoa, but I
just have run out of ideas.

I'm kind of vague on where I found the blizzard bracelet as I
am now at level 15 and have been runnin in circles for about 5 days
now. Did you cross the river twice and explore caves while in the
Portoa area ? I know that you find it before you leave Portoa on
the boat. Sorry I couldn't be more specific with an outright spoiler.

I am missing something obvious but can't spot it. I have killed one
monster in Goa castle but now I can't find anything other than a
wall that has an embossed head on it that spits fire at me. Supposedly
there is another steel wall somewhere in Goa that speaks to me ??
Also when exploring the the cave in the poison swamp to the south
of Goa I find another steel wall with fire-spitting head. I suspect
that I need the thunder sword to have any effect on these walls.
About Mt. Hydra, when going s-w from Goa I find a cave that branches
a couple of times, stops at lava flows, a couple of lava creatures ?
attack me but there is nowhere else to go.Have I really found Mt. Hydra
or just wasting my time. So far the game has flowed smoothly, this is
the first time I have been really stuck. Thanks for any help !!!

498.113 | Stuck in Portoa without a paddle | AIDEV::SPERRY | | Thu Sep 19 1991 15:10 | 16 |
| I just picked this game up at Toys are US for $16, one of the benefits
of Super NES being out I guess. The kids and I have made it to the
town of Portoa and are stuck. We have everything we are supposed to I
think to get to Portoa.
In the cave under the waterfall we can get to the two petrified
people but can't free them with either the Lysis Plant or the other
plant that was for sale in the store. Seems like we need the flute of
the lime tree. We have been over every square inch of the areas around
Portoa without coming across it or the fog lamp or anything else of
use. There is an underground river but every time we enter we get
blown back before we can paralyze or fight the Neptune guy. We have
gotten into the room behind the queen's chamber, but can find nothing.
We don't have the water sword and can't cross streams. I read an
allusion to a sick dolphin in these notes, but we never found one.
Anyone still remember anything about what to do next?

498.114 | To find water sword !! | RAYBOK::COOPER | One-ton Tomato ! | Thu Sep 19 1991 18:03 | 13 |
| The "sick" dolphin comes into play after you get the water
sword. You need the water sword to continue so here is a spoiler;
You get the water sword from the people of Oak. They have some tasks
that need to be completed and then they give you the sword. Once you
have the sword and the "ball of water" you will be able to cross the
rivers in and around Portoa to find the other things (like lime flute)
that you need to continue. The game won't let you get to far ahead
or out of sequence before becoming stuck. It happened to me three or
four times during the game. Usually something obvious that I had
overlooked though !!!!! Good luck, it is a really fun game.

the poisonous swamp town is that of Oak. there is an important mission
to be done here for these people of Oak that have been described in

I believe (but not sure) that successful task completion will be

This might be the ticket to climbing the hill stopped due to limited

You are now in for an interesting trip if I remember correctly.
Assuming that you did everything around OAK and can talk to these

that it used to say you are not powerful enough.
If you have defeated the student in tornel's hut, then he should have
taught you something. This may help too.
There should be a mahjor reference to the training center.

498.135 | an answer on barrier. | AIMTEC::WARRENS_R | Kill Capital Punishment! | Wed Oct 30 1991 15:03 | 36 |
| Because I have lost the game I was saving, I am only back at level 7
and just ending the Oak people.
There have been some discussion as to what is needed to advance past
the mountain barrier (Mt Sabre i think) in the North.
I think I have the answer
Spoiler.
Teleport seems to be the answer. This is given by Tornel in the west
training ground. This means you have to advanmce up the mountain in the
west (also mt sabre).
Tornel says he is surprised to see you but gives you the chest with the
magic.
I believe that the first time I did this i happened to advance my level
to 8, but this time I waited until after climbing the mt on the north
side to do that. thus I don't believe that level has any direct
relationship to the barrier.
Notice, it is an Oak person that hints at the necessity of going to the
west training ground, and also you will have had to fighttornel's
student (Stom?) first.
Once you beat Stom, he waits. Later he tells you that the tornado
bracelet is in the mountains. There is a possibility that this is what
got me through the barrier. I am uncertain, but think it was the
teleport.
Just to add to the confusion.

It has been a while for me as well but -.1 is correct in that you need
the FOG LAMP in order to get the boat...in order to take the boat ride
to the point where you can use the flute to call the dolphin.
The problem of where to find the lamp... As indicated by -.1, it is
indeed in a cave east of portoa. Getting to the cave, if I recall
correctly, requires the bracelet that allows your water sword to change
water into ice. You have to cross one of the streams to find the cave
to get the lamp etc.
Hope this helps

have that. I need the BOW of TRUTH.
Thanks, anyway.
(p.s. I will try it anyway.)

| Hello???? Is anybody still here??? I haven't seen a note in here for at
least a month!
Okay, I need two spoilers now.
1. Where is the BOW OF TRUTH?
2. Where is the Psycho Armor?
If anybody can answer these pleas, I would be very grateful.

Unfortunately, many people are no longer playing older games and no
longer remember where many of the objects are. If you cannot find
assistance here, Nintendo is usually helpful. In the United States,
the game counselors can be reached at 1-206-885-7529.

The armor is in a treasure box that will be given to you when you kill
the person in the desert pyramid outside of sahara. You will the drop
down and talk to another person that will give you the bow of truth

of truth. Hope this helps, it has been a while since I played this
game.

| I know this game is not new, but I just got it and Im really enjoying
it.
If anyone remembers...please post a clue as to the location of the
X-ray glasses on the Island of Joel??
I am only at level 10 at this point in the game and other notes here
have said that they were higher at this point. Could that affect my
ability to find the glasses??
I have been outside on the dolphin searching the perimiter of the
island and have scoured the town of joel itself. Im sure its just
under my nose but can someone give me a clue?
Thanks, Judy
