Do they mean Arkanoid 2 or a new arkanoid version?
I have Arkanoid and arkanoid 2 for my computer.
Arkanoid 2 is called Revenge of Doh.

I do know however that as of february the "new version" wasn't out yet.
How long has Revenge of Doh been around?

Revenge of Doh has been out for 1-2 years for ibm/c64. I got it for an Apple
2 Gs. It is awesome! The computer version lets you make your own levels!!!
I don't know about Nintendo though. I strongly suggest is for its great soung
and great graphics!!!

| Arkanoid 2 is a Japanese versiob of Arkanoid. Basically the same from
what I understand. You need an adaptor to be able to play it in your
NES. Also, I believe that Arkanoid 2 was never released in the U.S.
The last time I called Nintendo (~2 mos ago), the guy said there were
no concrete plans to put the 'original' version of Arkanoid back into
production, and didn't know of any 'replacement' for it. (breakout is
quite a bit different than Arkanoid). HOWEVER, he did say that they
had been getting LOTS of calls/requests for Arkanoid, so he FELT that
it might go back into production. He said it would take about 3-6 mos
from when they start production (of the chips in Japan) to when it
actually h it the shelves here. So ... maybe, but I wouldn't hold my
breath. So now that I'm hooked on Arkanoid and had to return my
borrowed copy, we've rented Tengen Tetris ..... go ahead, TEASE ME!!

RE:4, you say that Arkanoid and Breakout are very different. Hmm, I
thought I read somewhere in this notesfile that they were similar. CAn
you give me a brief description of Arkanoid and Revenge of Doh?

Just a thought...having already called Nintendo, have you thought of
calling Taito, who (if memory serves me) is (was) the manufacturer
of Arkanoid. Maybe they have better info regarding Ark2 or rereleasing
Ark 1.
Also, if you're so inclined, ask the store that rented you Tengen's
Tetris if they'd sell it to you. I'll trade you my Arkanoid for it...

I'm not talking abought arkanoid 2 for nintendo! I'm talking about it
for a home computer. It should be the same for nintendo. In Arkanoid you bounce
balls off of a little ship and can get sevrel power up items. In Arkanoid 2 you
have a NEW ship to bounce balls off of. Some types of blocks move. Others come
back once you hit them. In arkanoid 2 you can have something like 26 balls on
the screen at one time. Arkanoid 2 is an old game (1-2 years). They just
haven't come out with it for nintendo. Arkanoid 2 has 64 levels. You beat 32
levels of blocks and one level of Doh. The others are alternates which yoi goto
depending on certain things (i.e. score) I hope this answers your questions.
If you don't believe me ask Tatio if they have Arkanoid 2 for computers.

| Hi sorry to put this here, but is the game breakout the same game
as breakthru???
There is a gentleman selling the game BreakThru in the for sale
section and I couldn't find a note on it in here...Any help would
be appreciated...
