407.0. "Tip Sheet" by ALIEN::POSTPISCHIL (Always mount a scratch monkey.) Thu Jan 18 1990 08:06

Subject: ***** Tip sheet issue #1 *****

Well here it is this is what I've managed to gather so far, things are a bit
abbreviated, but I've put explanations at the end of the note. These are mostly
from issues of Nintendo Power, I can verify them with the source if necessary,
but I didn't see any reason to include the NP issue date, so if you need them
let me know. And a thanx to [email protected] for the Ironsword password
hopefully eventually I can collect everyone's game specialties and we can serve
as game counselors for each other.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any Sega or NEC tips as of yet,
but they will be included as soon as I recieve them.

***** Tip explanations *****
Symbol explanation : A = Button A, B = Button B, U = Up, D = Down, L = Left,
R = Right, Center = Center of Pad, Sel = Select, Start = Start, (I) =
Controller I, (II) = Controller II, Reset = Control Deck Reset.
Two symbols seperated by a + sign indictes to hold the first and press the
second, until indicated to release. Two symbols seperated by a comma indicates
press and release the first, then press the second. When a particular
controller is idicated use that controller until indicated otherwise. A symbol
followed by a x N, where N is any number, mean press that button N times.
Brackets mean treat the series on Buttons as if it were one button.
Ex. (II) A, B, R + [(I) Sel x 4, B + A]
Would read in english:
Press and release Button A on controller II, then press and release Button B
on controller II, then press and hold the right arrow on controller II, and
press and release the select button on controller I four timesm, then press and
hold he B Button on contoller I and press Button A on controller I.
Other explanations:
Password, is simply a password to start you at some point in the game.
Power Up, is a method to either give you more lives or better weapons.
Continue, is a method of continuing the game where you left off or at the
beginning of that stage.
Stage Select, lets you choose where you want to start in the game.
Tricks, changes play of the game in some way.
Increase Difficulty, does just what it sounds like.
Exit, gets you out of the stage you are in.
Sound Check, lets you play with the game's sounds.
There are also combinations of these such as passwords that will give you a
power up.
-----------------
Hope this is of some help, let me know of any problems
and any mistakes will be fixed before the next issue.

Hi,
The Tip Sheet is a great idea, can't wait to try some of these.
Would it be possible to get a brief explanation next to the
passwords? Such as this
GameA Password Explanation

407.4 | Tiger-heli Tip doesn't work | AKOCOA::DUPLAK | | Fri Nov 16 1990 12:12 | 7 |

The tip for Tiger Heli does not work, nor do any variations
of the sequence allow you to start at the last stage. Where
did you get this tip? It isn't in the Tiger-Heli note.
