| Hi, Den 4. I live in sunny (and smoggy) southern California.
I was a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout when I was a kid about 150
years ago. I understand the Scouts have changed a little since
then...we used to study the tracks of local animals, like the
wooly mammouth and saber toothed tiger, but you guys are learning
about computers! Quite a difference!
Enjoy your days in Scouts, boys...you'll learn things that will
help you when you get older, and you'll be glad you were a Scout!
Regards,
Bill

331.3 | It's smoggy in Northern Calif. too! | WLDWST::DRAKE | | Tue Oct 03 1989 12:24 | 15 |
| Amazing! When I was a Cub Scout we didn't even know what computers
did! They were something Dad sold to the Govies and that was it.
Welcome to the notes file from the home of the National and American
League Western Champions-The Bay Area, San Jose, California.
Don't forget that the computer is just one element of your "training".
Scouting is for learning about nature and it's rescources and the
preservation of wildlife. It's really easy to forget about what
goes on in National Parks when you're in a lab all day.
Stay with Scouting and you will go places and see things that
are fun and sometimes rather mind-blowing!
Enjoy!

| Thanks to all of you for your replies! The Webelos will see them all
on this Monday night, and I am sure they will enjoy reading them. We
had a little 'technical difficulty', accessing notesfiles from my home,
via TSN but nevertheless, managed to get through the session.
We had split the den in half, with the other half participating in the
Wrestling conference. Funny, none of the boys were interested in taking
a look at the Scouting conference! Whaddayagonnado?
Thanks again for your support & participation!
Joe. (ps - this note is now writelocked)
