303.0. "How does the controllers really work?" by ORT::ORTHOBER () Sat Jul 29 1989 23:58

	Hi Nintendo players.

I do alot of infra-red remote control work at home and a friend
asked me if I could build a custom remote controller for his
ninteno game. I said sure and now I need a bit of help from
	everyone here.

Does anyone know how the controller electronically gets it
job done. I pulled one apart and I see a 4021 shift register
and maybe someone out there has allready done the digging to
see how these controllers work. I could do it, but it may take
some time. I will favorably reward any help with an at cost
	remote control.

thanks for any controller info

I'm not too sure who makes it, but there is already a "remote"
comtroller made to be used with Nintendo.

I've seen them at Richs Department Stores.

I have also seen an infra-red remote control at the WAL-MART store
here in florida. I'll check the brand name and get back to you.
That's not to say someone else couldn't improve on it or have a
better idea. I know the remote controllers I had for the ATARI
    were less then reliable.

The remote control for the NINTENDO is call ACCLAIM. I purchased
it for my sons for $29.99 on sale, it normally runs about $34.99
to $39.99. They said that they didn't like the way it worked,
seems that you have to be very careful at directing it towards
the receiver that is plugged into the system. I am bringing it
    back.
