259.1 | Pretty sure but I'll have to check..... | LAMBOG::BENT | Bob Bent...Maynard ISWS | Thu Apr 20 1989 12:51 | 9 |
| You have to qualify in each days events to move on to the next day...at the
end of the week(?) of qualifying (all events) you move on to the medal rounds...
you get a password at the end of each successful qualifying day so you can
continue where you left off. In the medal round your qualifying times are
higher than the first round...I'm still trying to qualify on the high bar to
continue so I don't know what happens in the medal round yet....it's a fun game
but the advantage seems to be a must (bigger buttons for easier running etc)

| this is a great game! very tough! the triple jump really got me
upset, and I was breaking a sweat trying to qualify! still haven't
done it
I can't figure out the pole vault at all!! and the swimming event
got me sweating again!! but the good news,
I'm a fencing champ! I shot 39 out of 40 clay pidgeons, I just
barely qualified in archery. the hurdles are tough but can be done
I love the platform diving!
this game is going to take months to master! there are three events
that you don't get to practice for! hang gliding, pistol shooting
and one other which I forget! but if my hands can take it
i'll do it!!
If anyone does complete it please let me know

| It can be done. Really the only way to get your athlete's power
level up is with the rapid fire button. Unless you have bionic
fingers. I know you think using r.f. will make it too easy, but
it's not as easy as you might think in the higher levels. I've
competed in the medal rounds and gotten golds in all of them.
It takes time. As far as the pole vault, use the B button right
as the end of the pole passes the plant for the pole. You will
enjoy the medal rounds.

I have still not purchased this game so; How many levels (days+medals)
do you have to get to beat the highest level? If you have nine
days, is it nine levels?
How many fencers do you face?
How many karate fighters do you face?
(I like these events the most)

| You must go threw each event for the first round, each set of three
events being a day. After you complete the first set of all the
events, you have too do it again. Then you go on to the medal rounds.
As far as the tae kwon do and fencing, if you beat your opponent, you
move on to the next event. However if you lose you have to fight
an opponent from a different country. The medal rounds get tough.
After each set of three you are awarded a medal in you have earn
it. The game was enjoyable. Really liked the graphics.

259.8 | Try NES Advantage Controller | MOOV01::IRWIN | | Wed Jun 28 1989 11:43 | 12 |

I rented it also to try it out $5 for the week. I have to admit the
graphics are excellent. One thing though I think everyone should try
is using the NES Advantage controller. With the turbo repeat on you
can always get full power out of the players and do well in every
event. I especially liked it for the High dive, With turbo you can make
the diver tuck and spin about 20 times before entry. I got 9.2 across
the board and entered the water doing a tuck. The Nes Adv controller
makes the game great.
