245.0. "Spread your wings...." by POBOX::KALLEVIGB () Thu Mar 30 1989 01:34

    I'm wondering if there is a 'Flight Simulater' for Nintendo besides
    a TOPGUN type game? I have never played TOPGUN so I'm not sure if
    it's what I want i.e. something real! (or close to it) We've looked
    into getting the "FLIGHT" game off the conference but don't have
    the right stuff (pun intended) or disk space. I'd like something
    challenging as far as piloting an aircraft or am I better off working
    with a PC?

    Lookin to spend another $50

    Thanks,

    BJ

    There is no flight simulator for Nintendo that I have seen or heard of.
    Sega has one, but I have never tried it.

    I suppose they could make a halfway decent flight simulator, but you
    really need more controls. Computer versions have controls for
    raising/lowering gear, starting engines, ailerons, rudder, flaps, zoom
    and viewpoint, setting radio frequency, and so on.

245.2Word of Mouth reccomendation for Sega....SPIKED::SWEENEYThu Mar 30 1989 13:4312
My brother has a Sega and just bought their flight simulator tape (Fighting
Falcon is that the name?) I haven't seen it yet, but he reccommends it highly.
He says it beats the heck out of Top Gun (what wouldn't!). In the beginning
there are only a few bad guys to fight and they're easy to missle lock on and
shoot down. But as you go along there are many more bad guys and they pull
all kinds of nasty ariel stunt. ie the Top Gun movie manuever of brakes,
pull up quick, and then quickly nose down to lock onto your pursuer. My
is currently at a level where it's you against 10-12 bad guys.

Almost makes me wish I had a Sega too!

    It is not a tape; it is a card.

    a previous note TOPGUN isn't what I want...
