242.3 | Didn't anyone go??? | SUNRIZ::JBONIN | | Mon Apr 03 1989 15:55 | 14 |
| Well, the Nintendo Flea Market was such a smash, they had to close
the doors a little after 4 PM. It was scheduled to go until 5 but
they sold out of *everything*! I got around $250 for under $80!!!
They had new, used, cash for your old nintendos, teeshirts, patches,
Nintindo mags, and just about every accessory.
In fact, it was such a success, he has announced 3 more flea markets
in Framingham, Waltham, and Randolph. If anyone wants me to post
the locations and dates (nobody seemed to interested in saving $$$
for the last one), I'll post where they will be held in another
note.

242.4 | I went | USWAV1::BRADISH | | Mon Apr 03 1989 16:00 | 14 |
| I went to this flea market (from Maine). They did not have teeshirts
or refreshments. They had plenty of used and new cartridges, hats,
joysticks, comic books, two TVs set up to try the used games. I
got the only RAD RACER in its original box, with 3-D glasses and
instruction book for $27. There was a kid there just throwing out
prices on the used games, so he was probably inconsistent in quoting
people, an older guy buying used games. I saw this one kid (10-12)
had 15 games he wanted to sell. At first he tells the guy he'll
trade 3 for 3, but the older guy said he had to make money. The
kid was told $80 for the 3 games he wanted. They paid him $200
for his 15 cartridges. Kid didn't have parents with him or anything,
I thought for sure they'd take this young, naive kid for a ride.
It cost $1 to get in. I wouldn't got back (cause it was a 2hour
drive for me), but I'm glad I went. The next one will by May 1.

242.5 | You call that a flea market?? | MPGS::GIFFORD | I'm the NRA/GOAL | Tue Apr 04 1989 15:27 | 23 |
| I too went to this so called "flea market" and was not too impressed
with what I found.
<FLAME ON>
Where I come from (USA) a flea market is where many different "vendors"
set up their wares and sell what they can. This side show in Auburn was a
monopoly by some fat slob a$$hole. A couple of people brought suitcases
full of games to set up and sell and this JERK kicked them out as if he
owned the place. What they should have done was contact the manager and
see if they could set up in the hall outside the room where El Jerko
was set up, and then undercut his prices by at least 10%. That would
have got his goat. Charging to get into the "flea market" was another new
practice to me, any other flea market I've ever been to was free to get
into. I wouldn't have bought from this jerk if he was giving them away at
3/$1.
<FLAME OFF>
What would be nice to see is a true flea market of games to choose
from.

242.6 | Framingham flea market | CARTUN::WINTRINGHAM | | Fri Apr 07 1989 10:11 | 2 |
| I would be interested in a "true" flea market for used Nintendo games.
Is there one planned for the Framingham Area?

242.7 | Dates and Times Please | HYEND::JHALL | | Mon Apr 10 1989 12:21 | 3 |
| I would also be interested in the dates and times of such "flea
markets". The tapes are so expensive and I have a few I would like
to trade.

| Next time you see that fat jerk who wouldn't let anybody set up,
ask him if he would like to throw?
