194.0. "Trysoft" by SAFETY::MORRELL () Wed Jan 25 1989 08:27

Could someone give me a pointer as to which note contains the Trysoft
telephone number? Also, can I order Zelda II from them?

    Thank You

Trysoft deserves its own topic, so let's make this it. Also, it would
be appropriate to announce other mail order places here, at which time
    the title should be changed.

    re. .7
Just to clarify how I got the phone number in my earlier reply.
I ordered a game from Try Soft in October using the 800-877-6274
number. When I attempted to place another order a few days ago, I kept
getting the fast busy at ALL times of the day. On my previous receipt,
it said Nintendo Entertainment Center. I called Information for
Redmond, Wash. and they had no listing for Try Soft, but did have a
listing for Nintendo Entertainment Center and said it was 206-867-0941.
I called that number that night and the girl who took my order said
"Try Soft". She also said that I could also use the 206-881-6885 number
as well. I'm sorry that the first number turned up bad, but I did order
from it and she didn't say it was restricted. Sorry for the confusion,
but Ma Bell made me do it!!!

    Good gamin'

Is this Credit card or COD? Do they have a catalog also?
How long did it take for you to get your order?

I'm interested in mail order, cause each time I go to look
for a game up here, they don't have it and don't know if
    they will...That gets frustrating.

Took less than 24 hours for me!! Federal Express from
Washington (state) to Massachusetts. You pay for the
        shipping btw ($5).

    Thanks,

I called the 800 number yesterday noon, and got through in about
5 trys using the redial botton. They were very nice, and the price
    was great.

Locally the two games I wanted were going to be about $90, Trysoft
gave me a price of $69, which included shipping.

I believe I've found where to get my games...

    	Hi,

Can someone tell me what Trysoft is?

Is it a mail order house or is it a company who designs games
    	for Nintendo?

I called the 800 # today (Sat.) got an answer the 2nd ring.
I asked them if they had a catalog or list of games you can order
by mail and they said no. but asked what I was looking for.
    	(very pleasant people)

I named off a couple of games but thay were out of stock in
Castlevania II,didn't sell Castlevania I or Solomons Key (sp?)

So my question is if they make these games for Nintendo
what are some of the other games available from them?

If they are a mail order house who sell different
games from different companies can someone put together a
list of games they have purchased from them and some of the
prices of the games. This would be a great way to compare
between the prices of games in stores and the prices from
Trysoft.(who will most likely be the lowest around)

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

    	Thanks,

    	Wayne

    	Hello,

In regaurds to my last reply (note 194.6)

If anyone has information such as what games they got from
Trysoft and thier prices and are willing to give us the info
on them please send me mail and I will compile a listing of
what games are available and the coast for them and will
post them either here once a month or start a new topic for
them and try to keep it updated.

Please send mail to me so this topic will not be filled with
a ton of replys about games available from Trysoft.

(Thanks for the idea Jack C.)

Yes, there is a place in California called Video-Takeout. They sell
Nintendo, Sega, Atari as well as computer games. Telephones are
1-800-228-4336 and 818-904-0345. The 800 number is rather busy so I
included their customer service number also. They have a pre-order
system where if a game is sold out or not released yet, you can
pre-order it and they will ship the game as soon as they get it. I
have been very happy with their service.

Here's some information on Tengen. There's also another mail order
place listed in .8. Should we make this topic a
mail-order/phone-number information topic or start a new topic?

Tengen is located in Milpitas, California. I called them when I was
looking for Gauntlet and they told me where I could buy it less than
a mile from my office. Their phone number is (408) 435-2650. The
address is

I don't know if they do mail orders, but you can always ask.
