162.0. "TV Guide Rates Nintendo" by GIAENG::ELSBREE () Thu Dec 01 1988 17:07

In the new issue of TV Guide there is an article titled, "Believe
It or Not, Vidio Games Are Back... Stronger Than Ever." In the
article, it discusses the downfall of Atari and the rise of Nintendo
and Sega. One interesting point the article makes is that Nintendo
controls 83 percent of the game market (not bad). The article also
includes a section of game ratings for the Nintendo, Sega, Atari
7800, and Atari XE. The ratings for Nintendo games are as follows:
    	Excitebike (B+)
    	The Legend of Zelda (B)
    	Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! (B)
    	Pinball (B)
    	Golf (B-)
    	RBI Baseball (B-)
    	Hogan's Alley (C)
    	Kung Fu (C)
    	R.C. Pro-Am (C)
    	10-Yard Fight (C)
    	Tennis (D+)
Not particularly great grades, and I can't believe Excitebike scored
higher than The Legend of Zelda. The only "A's" were given to Sega
and the Atari 7800 for Gangster Town (Sega: A), Out Run (Sega: A-),
and One-on-One Basketball (Atari 7800: A-). The rest of the grades
for Sega and Atari ranged from "B+'s" to "D's". No system scored
    very well.

What do they know? These people want you to watch reruns of "Three's
    Company", not play your game...

    I rate Zelda an A+, and Excitebike a C-!
