158.0. "NES ON A 13 INCH" by SCOVAX::MONOCCHI () Tue Nov 22 1988 15:00

I,m thinking about buying a 13 inch color T.V. for my son to use
with his Nintendo. My concern is that some of the characters may
appear too small on a 13 inch screen. Does anyone out there have
any experience with NES games on a 13 inch T.V.? Are there any games
I should avoid buying because of the small screen?

I've used my NES with both a 13" and 20" monitors and I like
the 13" more. You get a sharper image with the smaller screen and
I haven't noticed any problem with object being to small.

We've been using my 'spare' 13" monitor with the NES and it works just
fine. If you have a unit which accepts the NTSC video signal, the
picture is quite a bit sharper than what you get on Channel 3.

Our NES is hooked up to our bedroom TV (a 13" Hitachi). When I
pull a chair up close, the screen size approximates that of a
regular arcade game screen, and the sharpness is excellent with
every game I've tried (Kid Icarus, Rad Racer, Bases Loaded, Zanac,
    Star Force, etc. etc.)

    Enjoy!

It's been brutal...I mean BRUTAL!!!!! There's gotta be somebody out
there who can sympathize with me. Last wee I picked up Legendary Wings,
Gauntlet, SMB II, Link, RBI baseball, Bases Loaded, and Metal Gear for
    my kids....

...for Christmas. My wife made me promise not to open up the games and
play them. I'll tell ya it's tough. My wife thought of something even
more cruel. She suggested that she show LINK to our 8-year old and tell
him that "it's Daddy's Christmas present." The kid would go nuts, like
    me, waiting.

Anyone else out there trying to cope with a similar problem?

Mike, I thought I'd have to wait until after Christmas to play Link.
However, my wife gave it to me as a special present yesterday (wrapped
and everything)! Guess she couldn't wait either since she played
    it while I watched football.
