| | Hi Hiro,
I've got a few of questions about your note:
>	1. LSI CPU 6502 :SOFT WARE COMPATIBLE
Is this part from the Mitsubishi 50750 family of single chip
    computers?
>	4. FAMICOM'S PIN ASSIGNMENT
Is this for the game cartridge connector? If so the U.S. system is
different in both pin assignment and number of pins(72)! Do you have
this kind of information for the Disk System connector?
>	5. DISK SYSTEM :QUICK DISK (COMPATIBLE)
Is "QD" a standard format of some sort? Do other "toy" makers use
    this format/media?
>	Disk Game is able to rewrite by DISK WRITER.
>	Disk writer is in major toy shops in Japan.
>	Rewrite = 500yen
Is this the way you "backup" your copy protected games? Or do you
rent games or get software updates this way?
>	The DISK SYSTEM is connect via cartridge that
> contain RAM ,Boot_ROM and FM sound LSI.
This "cartridge" connects to the connector on the bottom of the
game unit, right? Is this RAM loaded(from disk) with the sprites, for the CG, by
the Boot_ROM? What is the "FM sound LSI" for?
Thanks, very much, for your description of the disk system, so far!
	Kelly

| | I just saw a report on a new use of Nintendo systems in Japan --
accessing one's stocks. A Japanese brokerage has made software
available to their customers that allows them to call the brokerage,
receive information, and place orders through the computer. The report
showed parents using the stock service and then a child playing Super
Mario Brothers on the same system.

| | Hiro,
Thanks, very much, for the detailed technical information you've
provided! It has cleared up a lot of the misconceptions my friends and
    I had.
I know nothing of the "Super-Famicom" unit you've mentioned, but
would love to hear more about it! Is it compatible, what makes it
    "Super",etc...
	Thanks again,
	Kelly (aka Strangelove)

| 120.8 | P. C. Engine to U. S. ? | RAVEN1::TIMMONS |  | Thu Dec 22 1988 16:42 | 7 |
| | The Electronic Gaming Monthly, 1989 Annual says that Mattel is
negotiating the marketing of the P. C. Engine in the U.S. It will
be changed so that big games do not require two program cards.
The program cards are only slightly smaller than a credit card.
Expansions available in Japan include 5 player capability and CD ROM.
The most popular game in Japan is "R-Type" which may not make it
to the U.S. since it has only been licensed by Nintendo for Japan.
