104.1 | Another Spelunker | TOMCAT::MARINO | | Tue Jul 26 1988 16:53 | 26 |
| > Anyone have "Spelunker"?
I've been playing it for about three weeks and have enjoyed it. Are we the
only two playing it?
> 1) Anyone know how the extra lives are gotten?
I suppose you've figured this out by now, although one of my son's friends
found out that by bumping into certain walls you can pick up extra treasures.
Sometimes that treasure is an extra life.
> 2) How far has anyone made it, beaten it yet?
I got way down last night and think I was to the last checkpoint when I missed
a jump off a rope. That was very frustrating - maybe tonight....
I've got a question. Sometimes when you pickup those surprise treasures the
results are strange. For instance, I have picked up some kind of magic ring
that makes me go real fast jump real far. Mostly what happens is I overshoot
everything I jump for and die. A questionable benefit. Another treasure seems
to do nothing but change the music. Of course that alone is a welcome relief
after listening to the same tune for an hour or so. Anybody figure this out
yet?

104.2 | Where Did the Keys Go? | ARCHER::MARINO | | Mon Aug 01 1988 10:19 | 11 |
| I finally beat it. When you get all the way through it lets you play a second
game, only this time the keys are invisible. This wasn't too bad and I made it
through the second time and started to accumulate a lot of extra lives. I went
into my third round only to find that the keys to the doors were not only
invisible but seemed to be gone altogether, the result being that I couldn't get
to the second level. I used up about six lives looking for those keys. I don't
know if this is a bug or a plan to end the game. Given the number of extra
lives I had, I probably could have kept winning indefinitely. Has anybody else
figured out where the keys are in the third round?

104.3 | One more SPELUNKER! | DNEAST::PURNELL_CHRI | Argool Assasin | Thu Mar 30 1989 10:59 | 16 |
|
I know its been awhile since the last response, but I have
SPELUNKER (bought used) and really like the game. I made
it through 2 levels and was on to the third level when we
lost power.....and haven't had the chance to get back to
the third level. Did you find out if the keys were there
or not?
If either of you still have the game, would it be possible
to get a copy of the instructions? Didn't have any when I
bought it.
Hope you're still out there,
* Chris *

104.4 | What about "renting" the directions? | HYEND::JHALL | | Tue Apr 11 1989 16:50 | 8 |
| A couple of video stores in my area have Spelunker. When you
rent a game they always come with directions, it might be
worth the couple dollars to get the directions and copy them
before you turn the game back in. Just an idea.

| I'm looking for a copy of the book for this game. If anyone
has one available or could make a copy I'd appreciate it. I can
be reached on CONVOY::LEWIS.
Thanks
