97.0. "Stinger Anyone ?" by NSSG::DUPLAK () Mon May 16 1988 11:26

My neighbor and I both have the NES and several game cartridges
between us (that we trade back and forth). Recently, he gave
me a game called "STINGER". He was really frustrated because
he couldn't find a way to get past the Watermelon Monster at
the end of level 1. After a few tries, I find myself stymied
as well. Anyone out there playing Stinger? Anyone have an
idea how to get past the Watermelon Monster?

Thanks in advance,

Frank Duplak

It isn't that hard, just duck the seeds it spits out, and shoot at it
as fast as you can. After a period of time (read minute(s)) you will
move into the bonus level or at least to level 2. Level 2 is a little
harder, level 3 harder yet, and so forth.

Thanks for the hint. I thought there might be some "trick"
to it, but I'll go back and try blasting away...

The watermellon monster is very easy.. I have beaten the game several
times.. to kill the watermellon you must have a better weapon than
the single shot and you MUST hit him in the eyes after he fires
    at you..!! GOOD LUCK..

I agree that the first level is quite easy, the second level isn't
too bad, the third level my wife and I have beaten, but the 4th
    has been hard.

Hello! Just thought I'd make a little suggestion to this game. get the NES
Advantage for Stinger. Mark my words, It'll work great for Stinger. With the
slow motion, you can avoid the missles much easier, and with the rapid fire
you can destroy the stage bosses and change bells to other colors much faster
than usual. You won't regret it, you'll get further in the game faster.

                                                             See ya for now,
                                                                  John
