I currently have the standard Nintendo baseball game that is ok
but leaves a lot to be desired in the areas of lead-offs , and
especially not being able to control your fielders. I'm quite
interested in hearing more about the MLB, Bases Loaded etc.
Does anyone know of these particular baseball games and if so a
review and ranking would of great interest to me.
thanks,
Kris B.

| I have had a chance to try MLB and I would have to rate it as
dissapointing. There are several bugs in the programming logic
(ie: with 2 out and a runner at third, if you get the batter out
after the runner crosses the plate, the run counts). Also, the
game, while having the major league roster for the 87 season, does
not give you a name for the player, only the number. Another problem
is its unrealist results in a game. I never had time to play more
than a few innings because the computer and I bashed each others
pitching to the tune of 20-30 runs apiece in three to four innings
of play.
I recommend waiting for one of the other versions of baseball to
come out. From what I have seen in ads. they look good. We will
just have to wait to see how they play.
It's a beautiful day for a ball game...
Lets play 3!

I have pruchased this game and have to agree the price vs quality
is missing. There are more bugs in the software than was mentioned
earlier. The ball has gotten stuck in the back stop several
times when the fielder has made a throwing error and the original
batter can score from first. Also the ball has gotten stuck
in the outfield fence and my centerfielder could not retrieve
the ball only my leftfielder could. Also the computer will
only throw to the base in front of the lead runner, so a batter
can have a bunt double. The computer's batters can be struck
out quite easily on obvious balls. Also my pitcher seems to
get more effective them more tired he is.
As far a control of the fielders goes it reminds me alot of
the Atari 2400 baseball game.
Kevin (beat the NL 75-12 all-star game)
P.S. The Red Sox team does not do well in this game either.

The Red Sox don't do well? I guess this game does have a touch of
realism :-) :-) :-).

| I rented MLB this weekend and boy its the pits! You would think
that if you swing early you should pull the ball...HA! Also the
umps calls leave much to be desired. (like real baseball I guess).
I fouled a pitch out of bounds and the fielder ran to the fence
and the game froze there!!
When playing the field, I could never throw out a runner on a ball
hit to third or short.
All in all...pretty poor...but definately worth the $1.00 rental.

C'mon people aren't we being a little nice with this game.
This game stinks big time. The day after I bought this
major league disaster I was able to pound the computer
Yankees 83-4 with the Orioles. The programming bugs in
this game are far too numerous to mention. A few examples
are always try to steal bases, the computer will always
let you go back to the base you came from. If the batter
flies out you can always go back also.
The best way to keep the computer from hitting the pitches
into the outfield is to throw inside fast balls. It might
be able to hit a couple but at least you can keep it from
scoring 15 runs an inning.
Talking about pitchers getting tired, Roger Clemens had it
after an inning or so. I have no idea why MLB would want to
license this, LGN must have spent all the money that was
supposed to go into programming on paying of Uberroth (sp?).

I don't know why you would even want to change pitcher's they
get more effective when the throw at about 50-65 mph.
