2001.0. "Need calculus derivative" by LANDO::LACAVA () Thu Sep 21 1995 15:23
Can anybody help me with a simple derivative
What is the derivative of C(r) = [r]/[ln(r)] ??
I know there is some rule, trick, or shortcut, but can't think of
if off hand.
If you know, mail me at lando::lacava. Thanks.....

I'm not sure about your notation but perhaps the following helps.
d f(x) f'(x)g(x) - f(x)g'(x)
- ---- = ---------------------
dx g(x) (g(x))
Hence
d x ln x - 1
- ---- = --------
dx ln x (ln x)
