Are there any "favorite" word processors out there in math land for
PC's? By that I mean, is there a favorite package that deals with math
symbols very well? I use MS-WORD and have access to WPS, but none of
these (to my knowledge, limited as it is) seems to make it easy to do
an integral sign for example. Any ideas? Are there any add-on fonts
for WORD etc?
Thanks..
Dennis

At least for MacIntosh version, Word has a Math typesetting capability which is quite impressive, though not readable until printed, or with the "page preview". | |||||

this is very good, probably best, i got one, cost 280 bucks, many fonts
supports many printers, it is What You See Is What You Get type of
editor, i recommend it, but note that it does take some time to learn
and use. Runs on DOS, i dont know about MAC. they have 30 days money
back gurantee. This also has ints own language, and language processor,
supports postscript among others. many features..
- MathType. the "intelligent Equation editor"

these pepole will send you a "Demo" disk, although fro some reason
the demo disk they send me did not run on my DOS Vaxmate PC.
this also runs in Microsoft windows, translate to TEX, compatible with
apple mac, etc.. looks good from the leaflet i got about it.
call them up, and they'll send you free demo disk and more info.
this is WYSIWYG too.

RE: MathType
I got the demo disk for my Mac. The demo has full functionality except
the resulting equations have a great big X drawn through them. I was
very impressed with both the ease of use and the resulting appearance.
I plan on purchasing it soon.
