    I am investigating and researching the mathematical modeling of
    structured documents (in electronic publishing, etc) and their
    transformations (eg., formatting, viewing, etc).

    Does anyone have any pointers to books/articles that address this
    issue?  More generally, this deals with the subject of mathematical
    modeling and any information in this area would be helpful also.
