956.0. "Deadbase puzzle" by WFOOFF::PECKAR (Wheel to the storm and fly) Fri Oct 21 1988 19:34
The following two arrays of ones and zeros appeared on the covers of the
two editions of Deadbase, which is a compilation, listing and statistical
analysis of the over two decades of performances by the rock and roll group
The Grateful Dead. The book is a reference for Deadheads who collect and
trade tapes of those performances.
One of the authors recently posted a message to the USENET newsgroup
rec.music.gdead that the meaning of the arrays of numbers has yet to be
figured out. Any takers?? I've spent about five hours on the arrays without
coming to any interesting conclusions, but I'm not much of reasoner either.
