474.0. "Queueing Theory for nonmaths analysts building TP systems" by GVAEIS::DARNTON (Geoffrey Darnton Europe/IS) Wed Apr 30 1986 14:41
I am shortly going to try and write some guidelines for application
developers who have to deal with transaction processing systems.
I am looking for some very helpful ideas on how non-mathematical people
can be guided to obtain some answers to relevant questions in order to
feed into a description of the queue, population, server, etc
characteristics. These non-mathematical people will typically be
developers who need to talk to users in order to understand the system
requirements. Queueing Theory literature is almost inaccessible to the
non-mathematician, and I would like not to have to do it for them.
Any ideas?
Also, does anybody know any easily available queueing analysis packages
which could be built into a toolkit for systems analysts?
