We are planning to convert all of the notefiles on the CLT:: cluster to the VAX NOTES format on Monday February 3, 1986. At that time, all of the existing notefiles will be writelocked. The converted files will be available in the new notefile format. Information on the VAX Notes kit can be found in CLT::NOTESUTIL - An old format notefile CLT::NOTES_ON_NOTES - A VAX Notes (new format) notefile The VAX Notes kit can be located on CLT::SYS$UTILROOT:[VAXNOTES] Do a directory of NOTES*.A and take the kit with the latest date.

I've changed the protection on this conference so that keyword creation is no longer restricted. That is, besides being able to ADD keywords to a note, anyone can also CREATE a nwe keyword and apply it to notes. Hopefully, this will make it easier to find OPEN problems, problems about COMBINATORICS, ALPHAMETICS, GROUP_THEORY and the like. Before creating a new keyword, please check whether there's already an existing, applicable keyword, that might (for example) just be spelled a little differently than what you'd planned (i.e., SHOW KEYWORD/FULL). During the next few weeks, I plan to add contributors to this conference as joined members (a contributor being someone who's written at least two notes here). This is of little value, EXCEPT that it makes it easier to send mail to MATH-noters for special events. - Gilbert | |||||
