363.0. "USENET subscribers" by TOOLS::STAN () Sun Oct 20 1985 19:02

According to note 119 in the USENET.NOT note file, as of 10/4/85
there were 21 people at DEC who subscribed to net.math,
8 people subscribing to net.math.stat, and 8 people subscribing
to net.math.symbolic.

=============================

To subscribe to net.math, send a MAIL message to ROLL::USENET
with a subject line containing the word "subscription".
The content of your mail message should say

$USELIST ADD enet-addr net.math

where "enet-addr" is your EASYNET electronic mail address,
for example, TOOLS::STAN.

    This topic should be updated since "net.math" has become "sci.math".
    To subscribe to sci.math, send a MAIL message to ROLL::USENET with a
    subject line containing the word "subscription". The content of your
    mail message should say:

    	$USELIST ADD address sci.math

    where "address" is your EASYNET electronic mail address, for example,
    TOOLS::STAN.

    To send a submission to sci.math, just send MAIL to
    RHEA::DECWRL::"sci.math" -- be careful about the quotes; DCL or other
    programs may strip them off. It is easiest to type them while in MAIL.

    To get a list of the available Usenet news groups, put this in your
    message to ROLL::USENET:

    	$USELIST LIST

    The sci.math mail is too voluminous for me. Please tell me how
    to stop getting it.

    Send mail to ROLL::USENET with SUBSCRIPTION in the subject field.
    The mail message should be made up of commands of the form:

         $uselist add node::userid netgroup
         $uselist delete node::userid netgroup
         $uselist show node::userid
         $uselist list

    These will add a subscription, delete a subscription, show you
    what subscriptions you currently have, and list all of the
    available groups.

    So you would do:

    $ mail

    MAIL> send/noedit
    To:    ROLL::USENET
    Subj:  SUBSCRIPTION
    Enter your message below. Press CTRL/Z when complete, or CTRL/C to quit:
    $uselist delete vino::jmunzer sci.math
    [Exit]

The USENET distribution software died sometime late last week. Try it again.
It should be working now.
