218.0. "No. Theory from Group Theory" by HARE::STAN () Sun Feb 03 1985 22:30

J. G. Thompson makes the conjecture that

	  q				     p
	(p  - 1)/(p-1)    never divides    (q  - 1)/(q-1)

if p and q are distinct primes. The validity of this conjecture
would simplify the proof of solvability of groups of odd order.

From the Kourovka Notebook - Unsolved Problems in Group Theory,
	page 51, problem 4.65.
