I was given this puzzle many years ago, maybe you have see it,
maybe not, here goes........
This puzzle was not necessarily devised this year.
1 Rood = 1/4 Acre.
1 Acre = 4840 sq. yds.
20 Shilling 1 = Pound Sterling
( The above definitions are for none Olde English audience!!!)
One of the numbers across is the same as one of the numbers down.
One number in the puzzle, relating to something quite different,
happens to be the area in roods of the rectangular field known as
Dogsmead.

I solved this using a Pascal program and just deriving a set of constraints
from the clues/grid. Was trivial. The year really was WAY out from when it
was written.
