C. J. Smyth poses the following interesting problem in the New James
Cook Mathematical Notes, June 1984, issue 34 page 4055:

Suppose the set {1,2,3,...,3n} is divided into three disjoint sets
A, B, and C, each containing n of the numbers.  Is it necessarily possible
to choose x in A, y in B, and z in C, such that one of the three
chosen numbers is the sum of the other two?
