93.0. "Integer Sequences Book" by HARE::STAN () Tue Jul 10 1984 15:08
I find myself in possession of a Xerox copy of
N.J.A. Sloane, A Handbook of Integer Sequences,
Academic Press, New York: 1973.
This book contains 2400 integer sequences (sorted) with
references to where you can get more information about them.
It is an invaluable reference work for anyone who is
frequently confronted by unknown sequences and need to
find out things like what's the next term, what's the generating
function, what's the nth term, etc.
Since I already have a hardcopy of this book, the Xerox copy is up for grabs.
If you have a need for this, please send me mail.

93.1 | There is a new edition of this book out | WRKSYS::ROTH | Geometry is the real life! | Thu May 25 1995 21:26 | 11 |
| I saw it when browsing in a bookstore the other day.
The part I found most interesting is not the sequences themselves,
but the discussions about the various classes of sequences, and
how one might find the underlying order in a given sequence.
I didn't feel like paying for the whole book for just that part
though - it would make more sense to have the discussion in book
form along with some data files.
