    Well, now 7 years after this initial string started, I have Highway 1
    service from Contental CableVision (in Arlington) over a cable modem at
    what looks like better than 1 mb/s. for $49.99 per month ($59.99 for
    non-cable tv subcribers) I get an E-mail account, access to their News
    server, and direct, always-conencted service to the internet at what
    looks like better than 1 mb/s - MUCH MUCH better than what I get inside
    Digital Easynet through the congested gateways and firewalls. I use a
    regular Ethernet card in my PC and AltaVista Tunnel encrypts all
    traffic to/from the Digital network.   So far (1 week) service has been
    very reliable.  The cable guy says they did around 40 installations in
    Arlington the first week.
