I will be in Roma the week of October 13 then on to Sorrento the next week. I was hoping to catch an opera and was informed by the Travel agency representative in Italy that there were none at this time. This surprised me - any comments? I just finished reading Pavaroti's book My World and he is off for the summer months then back to work comes September which led me to believe that most performers would be back on stage performing. Any input will be apperciated, Grazie, Lucienne

This > surprised me - any comments? > According to The International Opera guid which features the well known opera houses, the season in Rome is Nov-Jun. Oct. is just in between the summer festivals and the start of the indoor season, I guess. The reason for a limited program is mostly financial: opera is just too expensive to have it the whole year round (especially when you want to featur the fat man). jan | |||||
