882.0. "Help needed!" by PEKING::NASHD () Mon Mar 27 1995 16:39

    Hi,

    I need some advice.

I know crash diets don't work etc but I need to lose some weight, just
enough to notice - fast. Something like 14lbs in 14 days. I weigh in
at 14st, this is 196lbs. My final goal is < 160lbs.

As of today I'll be doing 60 minutes of aerobic exercise per day, eating
fat-free foods and then absolute minimum when I'm hungry. I hasten to add
    this is short term.

I'll do anything - within reason. Something I'm trying to prove is
    not working.

    Hi,

You might try Herbalife's products to see if they have the desired
effect for you. I found that their Thermojetics products made a
noticeable difference in my ability to lose weight.

A Herbalife distributor can, of course, supply you with details and
    prices.

    I don't know if it'll do 14 lbs in 14 days; I was dropping 1-2 lbs a
day at the start of the program.

    Hello,

How did you go as you got on further down the track in the program?
How much did your weight loss slow down?..

You could try the Cybergenics line of products. They have one out
called Cybergenics:Mega Fat Loss Program. They claim that people can
lose as much as 20 lbs in 14 days. It is a strict program - you can't
have any salt, sugar or fat (of course) and caffeine is a no no as
well. It comes with four bottles of herbal pills that are to be
ingested as they say in their instruction booklet.

I purchased one a while ago but I am hoping that I can do this on my
own (I have 15-20lbs to lose).

Good Luck and whatever you do don't forget to drink lots of water-it
    helps a lot.

    Hi,

thanks for the comments, especially the one by mail.

I've been unable to locate a source of Herbalife here - Reading,
    England.

I've been trying to lose weight for years but nothing really happens,
my weight has remained constant more or less. I did lose 10lbs in Jan.
and Feb but it's suddenly gone back on again - I was 200lbs on Saturday
morning last! ....words were exchanged as a result. I don't understand
why. Though when I did weigh myself the scales ( and me ) were on a
carpet and I tried to say that this would have affected the result, but
    not substantially.

    Incidentally, I'm 5' 9'' .

Anyway, I'll not be home again until Friday 7th April. I'll try and
weigh myself again in the next few days.

Thanks again, I do appreciate your comments.

here is one more comment for you....EXERCISE and EAT RIGHT!! If you
do both of them you will have no problem!!! These fad diets don't work
and you know it!! For people like us we have to keep workiing at it by
    eating right and exercising!!

    ( Where is Ma.?)

Did you have a weight problem?
    What exactly did you do?
What were the changes as a result?

You see, I've been doing step-aerobics for two months twice a week,
I've cut out chocolates, puddings, cakes etc and I lost a depressing
amount. I've actually bought a book about the training methods of our
Royal Marine Commando's, not that I plan to emulate or join them I
hasten to add. But I'm bound to learn something.

    Re: .8

    > Do you stick to it exactly?...

Nope. But deviations are usually my deliberate choice and I take the
result into consideration when I'm making the choice.

For example, at one point I simply got *tired* of the taste of one of
the preparations I was using. I stopped using it for about a week
while I gave myself a break from it and obtained another flavor. My
weight simply remained constant during that time. Which wasn't much of
a problem, since some of my clothing was near to falling off, anyway.

In another case, I had opportunities to go out to about 3-4 meals in
one week. I simply didn't want that large an intake, so I declined
    some and enjoyed others. :-)

How long have you been using the products?..

I have been using the products for abot 10-12 weeks and have lost 10kg
(almost..it's been going up and down between 9 and 10 for about 2
weeks), and I seems to have slowed down to almost a grinding halt, and
    it's wearing a bit thin...

I wasn't sure if the occasional splurge would be doing me damage..

I mean, How can you stick to it exactly all the time when there's so
many nice things to eat out there!!!!

I do enjoy the benefits of the program though...It's nice to meet a
    fellow HERBALIFER!!

	Dave,

Why the rush ? I doubt you put on 14 pounds in 14 days,
so why do you want to take it off so quickly ?
The probability of the weight remaining off once you've lost
	it is small.

1-2 pounds a week is a much better goal. If you took off
10 pounds in 2 months, you were doing well. Chances are,
somewhere you took a turn (a week off sick, a few extra
lunches out) that caused you to stop losing. Also, it is
wise to change your exercise routine after 6 weeks. There
are lots of notes in here that discuss the proper way to
lose weight, and how to exercise effectively.

My first recommendation to you would be to set a more
realistic goal. Second, consider 4 aerobic aerobic workouts
per week, plus 2 days of strength training. The muscle
work will help raise your body's metabolism, making your
	aerobics workouts more effective.

Take a look around in here for more pointers on intensity
	and duration.

	Karen

    Karen,

Thanks for the advice. Life at home is not all peachy right now and one
of the comments coming my way concerns my weight and rate of loss.

I'll accept the consequences of project, though I know you are making
    sense with what you write.

Anyway, through eating little and exercising a lot more than normal
I've gone to 194lbs since Saturday last, a loss of 6lbs.

You might try eating pasta with veggies at lunch and/or a potato. Make
that your largest meal. Dinner have a large salad. (greens, raw veggies,
no-fat dressing). Breakfast have toast or something non fat, and have
in-between snacks of fruit or raw veggies. That way your body doesn't
feel like its starving and halt your progress. Nibbling during the day
helped me lose 10 pounds. No fatty or greasy foods; no red meats.
    Just chicken and fish.

    Anyhoo, thats just my suggestion.

I've just read my basenote. again. I weighed myself last Saturday and
    the scales said 14st 4lbs = 200lbs. The debate then followed, she's
expecting to see the same old body next week and I'm hoping to surprise
her and do my self-esteem some good as well.

882.21Herbal Energizer---Great ProductUSAT05::BELLCThu May 11 1995 16:2031
    Hi,

Forgot to add, you can take between 2-3 tablets a day in the morning
(perferably with something on your stomach) and drink plenty of water.

Also, I like this product, mainly because even though I have plenty of
energy I am not so wired up that I can't take a nap if I wanted to.
If I desire to take a nap, I am fine, wake up with still plenty of
energy. And the energy is not overwhelming. For example, I work
8 hrs daily (by the way I am a top performer, I retain more in my
memory now -- recently received award in my district, highest call
taker....etc) when I get home instead of me dreading all that I have to
do at home, I now go home, clean, plant flowers, yard work, play with
kits, .... and I don't have that worn out feeling. Some days I take
    2. It really depends on how busy my day is going to be. I like three
but some people are fine with 2. I can go either way. On Sundays, I
am at Church 5:30 a.m. I get up at 4:00 a.m. and I am usually busy all
day and may get to bed at 10:30. I do take a nap when I get home. But
I am still refreshed, and energized. Additionally, I use to fall
asleep at the wheel and ....(I won't say) and since I've been taking
this I don't feel like I am a danger on the road. The doctors
couldn't find anything wrong with me they told me to take more iron,
potassium that did nothing at all. Also, I was looking for a colon
cleanser, and this product includes that. Again, Its like an
    ALL-in-One product.

    Hi,

I just wanted to put in a note to say I have been using the
Herbal Energizer tablets for only 3 days now and I can truly feel the
difference. What amazes me is that my craving for sweets, salty snacks
and caffeine seems to have disappeared. I thought it would be
lessened, but I truly found myself going for fruit and juice for snacks
instead (even when I went to the machines here at work where I was a
daily buyer of either a candy bar, chips and a coke!)

I am just a user of this product not a distributor, so I am singing its
praises from personal experience. I have used other weightloss
products in years gone by. Nothing has ever worked this fast. No...I
haven't dropped 15 pounds in three days or anything like that. What I
do like is the fact that I have more energy...not wired false energy...
    real natural energy.

I have started our son who is quite a bit over weight on the tablets.
He mentioned to me just yesterday that he couldn't believe he didn't
crave soda and salty snacks especially with the heat (95 degrees) and
    humidity.

I am looking forward to more positive results as time goes on.

Have a good rest of the day :)

Hello again. I can't believe it's so long since I wrote the basenote so
    a progress report.

I lost some weight - and we got married - then the weight came back,
heard this before anywhere? Same problem reappears - I'm at 200lbs.

I'm also worn out. I eat very little, do some exercise, drive 180 miles
to work and back each day and I'm so damn tired I live on caffeine it
seems. I take vitamin tablets etc.

I have some will power; I don't remember the last time I had any
chocolate or other sweet, or puddings or chips etc since making a
concious decision to lose weight again - from July 1st - but there's no
change. I want to get more energy from the food I eat mainly.
Oh, by the way, I'm running a half marathon in September.
